PHEOBE (GOULART) AYRES - Bristol 01:00 AM EST on Thursday, November 4, 2004 PHEOBE (GOULART) AYRES, 88, of Mount Hope Avenue, a former sewing machine operator, died yesterday at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ayres. Born in Bristol, a daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Motoiza) Goulart, she was a lifelong resident of Bristol. Mrs. Ayres was a sewing machine operator for the Standard Romper Co., Pawtucket, before retiring. She was a communicant of St Elizabeth Church, where she was a member of its choir and Holy Ghost Society. She leaves two sons, Bruce Ayres of Bristol and Kenneth Ayres of Newport; a daughter, Noreen Lamorca of Charlotte, N.C.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Francis Ferreira, Anthony Goulart, Joe Goulart, Clara Mello, John Goulart and Mary Silire. The funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from William J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Warren, with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, State Street, Bristol. Burial will in St. Mary Cemetery, Bristol.
