10/30/2004DANIEL JAMES MARTELL PHILADELPHIA, Pa./ BURLINGTON - Daniel James Martell, 42, of Aurora, Colo., passed away Oct. 26, 2004, in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born Nov 14, 1961, Daniel was a lifelong resident of Burlington and Winooski, before recently moving to Colorado. Daniel was the loving son of Helen Martell of Southampton, Pa., formerly of Burlington, and the late Earl P. Martell. Daniel graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1980, and was a loyal employee of IBM in Essex Junction for 22 years. He enjoyed woodworking, music, going to concerts, playing drums, and being in a band. He was also an avid photographer, often giving his beautiful photographs as gifts. Some of his work is currently on exhibit in Colorado. Daniel will always be remembered for his kind, gracious, unassuming, humble nature. He asked for nothing, gave only of himself, and never complained in spite of the numerous challenges life presented him. He quietly made his way into our hearts reminding us all of what mattered most in life. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his devoted mother, Helen, Daniel is survived by his loving sister, Cynthia Flowers and her husband Robert of Huntingdon Valley, Pa.; two nephews, Gregory Flowers of Arlington, Va., and Michael Flowers of Brighton, Mass. He is also survived by his uncle, Clement Alarie of Winooski; many cousins; and his loving companion, Gayle Downen of Aurora. Visiting hours will be held Monday, Nov 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Burlington, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Annex Cemetery.
