Louise Laporte > Pierre + Marie Auson Eagle Tribune Lawrence, Massachusetts 18 April 2000 ANDOVER -- Albert Cardinal Langevin, 84, of Andover, died Sunday evening at Lawrence General Hospital. Born in Worcester, the eldest of the four sons of Albert and C. Rose Langevin, he graduated from Assumption Preparatory School and College. Mr. Langevin was also a star player on the college tennis team. He attended Boston University Medical School. Returning to his parents' home in Lawrence, he and his brother Russell became owners of an Atlantic Gasoline Station on Broadway. During this time he married the former Edna Zaleski of Lawrence. Mr. Langevin served in the U.S. Naval Medical Corps in the Pacific in World War II. Following the war, he was employed by Watts Regulator Co. He then became an engineer in the research and development division of the Bolta Rubber Co. for many years. Mr. Langevin and his wife Edna become the owners of Powers Greeting Cards on Essex Street in Lawrence and Malden Greetings in Malden. After many years in the greeting card business, Mr. Langevin pursued and received his master's degree in education and counseling from Salem State Teachers College and became a senior counselor for the Massachusetts Department of Employment in Lawrence. After his retirement, Mr. Langevin and his wife enjoyed many trips to California, Hawaii and St. Martin in the Caribbean. Mr. Langevin will continue to live on in the loving memory of his wife of 58 years Edna, his son Albert W. and his wife Claire of Chula Vista, Calif., his son Richard T. and his wife Carol of Fremont, Calif., his daughter Sharon M. and her husband Jim Long of Pineville, N.C., and daughter Diana J. O'Donohue of Methuen. He will also be remembered by his brothers Louis L. and Russell E. of Methuen, and his five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Published in the Charlotte Observer on 8/5/2004 Edna Z. Langevin Mrs. Langevin, 89, of Pineville, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 1004 at Presbyterian Hospital Main. She was born December 24, 1914 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Mrs. Langevin had been a resident of Pineville for the last three years. A Gathering of family and friends will be 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 at McEwen Pineville Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA. She is survived by her children, Albert W. Langevin and wife, Claire, Richard Langevin and wife, Carol and Sharon Long and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Brian, Robin, Michael, Melissa and Brendon; and great-grandchildren, Brittany, Keirsten, Michael Earl and Evan.
