11/12/2004JOURDAINE LOUISE SHAW WEYBRIDGE - Jourdaine Louise Shaw, 77, of Weybridge passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. The eldest of three children, Jourdaine was born in Middlebury, March 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Nettie (Bodette) Severy. She attended Middlebury High School and graduated with honors in 1945. On April 6, 1946, she married Donald A. Shaw in St. Mary Church, Middlebury. A past president of Post 31, American Legion Auxiliary, she was also president and vice president of Small City Steppers, a square dancing club. Jourdaine was employed by the Dog Team Tavern for 11 years; was a dispatcher for the Vermont State Police, retiring from the Vermont Department of Public Safety after 25 years of service; and worked for State's Attorney Peter Langrock. A lifetime member of St. Mary of Middlebury, she generously gave her time and volunteered with the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, Porter Hospital, and the UVM Morgan Horse Farm. Mrs. Shaw enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, and was always a strong supporter of her children and grand- children. Family meant the world to Jourdaine and she loved everyone very much. She was very proud of her five children, and especially of her nine grandchildren. She experienced the joy of being a greatgrandmother and had another greatgrandchild due in May. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Donald Shaw of Weybridge; and her five loving children and family, Charles Shaw and his wife Mary of Florence, and their son, Dana; Donna Patterson and her husband Skip of Middlebury, and their sons, Donald, Richard and Michele, and their child, Zachary Charles; Robert Shaw and his wife Janet of Bristol, and their children, Jessica, Amanda, and Ian; David Shaw and his wife Wendy of Weybridge, and their daughter Danielle; and Patrick Shaw and his wife Lisa of New Haven, and their children, Benjamin and Kimberly Louise. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Severy and his wife Lorraine of Middlebury. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Oral Severy. The family will greet relatives and friends during calling hours held Friday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Sanderson Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Justin Baker on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church. Interment will follow services at St. Mary's Cemetery.
