Elsie S. Ducharme, 81 Homemaker; Red Sox fan; leaves family on Cape Cod RAYNHAM - Elsie S. (Craven) Ducharme, 81, died Tuesday at Morton Hospital after a five-month illness. She was the wife of Roland J. Ducharme Sr. Mrs. Ducharme was born and educated in Taunton and graduated from Taunton High School in 1941. She was a homemaker for most of her life but also worked at Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. She retired in 1982. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Taunton, where she was a member of the women's guild. She loved spending time with her family and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides her husband, survivors include six sons: Thomas Ducharme of West Yarmouth, Roger Ducharme of East Hampstead, N.H., Bruce and Douglas Ducharme, both of Newport, R.I., Randall Ducharme of Exeter, R.I., and Roland Ducharme Jr. of Middleboro; three daughters, Rosemary Botelho of Raynham, Rochelle Casey of Jamestown, R.I., and Rhonda Robinson of Sandown, N.H.; two brothers, Alfred Craven of East Falmouth and Dennis Craven of Las Vegas; a sister, Rose Davis of Taunton; her stepmother, Laurentina Craven of Taunton; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton. A funeral will be at 8 a.m. tomorrow from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church and burial in the church cemetery.
