Evelyn Dore, 90, of Skowhegan/Caratunk, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Somerset Rehabilitation and Living Center in Bingham. She was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Skowhegan, to Archie and Rosalie (Libby) Cote. Evelyn and her husband, Elmer, owned and operated Dore's Marine in Skowhegan for more than 40 years. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan, as well as the Daughters of Isabella. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Elmer; and a sister, Prudence "Chummy" Burger. She is survived by her son, Allan Dore of Stem, N.C.; grandchildren Tracey Dore and her sons Austin and Aaron of Fairfield; Jamie (Dore) Leuba and her husband, John, from Virginia; Jessika Duprey and her son, Isaiah Witham of Winslow; and Joshua Duprey of Winslow. She also leaves behind very dear friends, Susan Waldron of Norridgewock and Charlie and Ramona Paddock of Caratunk. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, with the Rev. Maurice Morin officiating. Arrangements made by Cremation Services of Maine.
