    3. 11/11/2004JEAN B. (FRAZIER) BEAN SHELBURNE - Jean B. (Frazier) Bean, longtime resident of Shelburne, died unexpectedly in Fletcher Allen Health Care on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004. Jean was born in Hinesburg, July 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Max and Irene (Menard) Frazier. She was educated in the Hinesburg school system. On July 30, 1947, she married Donald A. Bean in Charlotte. Jean was the chef at The Terraces when they opened and was an integral part of that community, serving in various capacities. Jean was an active and loyal member of the Shelburne community, serving as a volunteer for various organizations. She was an active mother in 4-H when her children were young, was a member of the Shelburne Home Dem group and served as a ballot clerk for all elections, including the most recent one. Jean was a true Vermonter. She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Shelburne; their son, Douglas and his wife Carol of Hinesburg; their daughter, Patricia LaForce and husband Dean of Richmond; her three beloved grandchildren, Katelyn and Lauren Bean and Dillon LaForce. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Bean; her sister, Elsie Purinton; and her aunt and uncle, Scott and Ienza Fraser. A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. in the Shelburne United Methodist Church, with the family receiving friends following the service. Burial will be in the family lot in Hinesburg Village Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shelburne Rescue, P.O. Box 254, Shelburne, Vt. 05482; or the Humane Society of Chittenden County, 142 Kindness Court, South Burlington, Vt. 05403. Shelburne Funeral Chapel of Corbin & Palmer, 203 Falls Road, Shelburne, is in charge of arrangements.
