11/10/2004JAMES THOMAS CORRIVEAU DUXBURY - James Thomas Corriveau, 56, of Crossett Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly in the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. Born in Laconia, N.H., on Aug. 9, 1948, he was the son of Vesta (Burleigh) Corriveau and the late Gerard E. Corriveau. On Aug. 21, 1971, he married the former Aleta Benoit in Belmont, N.H. Jim attended schools in Belmont and in 1968, enlisted in the U.S. Army as a member of the 31st Engineer Battalion, serving in Vietnam until 1970 where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He remained in the Reserves until 1974. Working in several machine shops near his home in Laconia, Jim came to the Waterbury area in 1980 where he owned and operated a taxi business for several years and then most recently, worked at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Jim was very passionate about life, people and creatures. He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycling, the mountains, the ocean and driving his lovingly restored 1962 Chevrolet Impala. Jim was also an accomplished guitarist, playing in bands throughout New Hampshire. Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Aleta Corriveau of Duxbury; his mother of Belmont; his son, Jerome Corriveau of Duxbury; a daughter, Manda Corriveau of Plainfield;two grandsons, Nathan and Ethan Corriveau; two brothers, Glenn P. Corriveau of Belmont and Allan W. Corriveau of Gilmanton N.H.; three sisters, Beth Ley of Sanbornton N.H., Suzanne Lutz of Laconia and Amy Corriveau of Meredith, N.H.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1980 and a sister, Jean Dowling in 1995. Funeral services will be held from the Wesley United Methodist Church in Waterbury on Friday at 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 11 Loomis St., Montpelier Vt. 05602. Arrangements are in the care of the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Waterbury.
