    3. Germaine D. Guerin Germaine D. Guerin 1913 - 2004 CHICOPEE - Germaine D. (Coulombe) Guerin, 91, died peacefully in her sleep, November 15, 2004 in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, after a brief illness. Germaine was born October 12, 1913, to the late Edmund and Emma (Francoeur) Coulombe in Manchester, New Hampshire. Educated in the Manchester school system, she later moved with her family to Chicopee Falls. She and her beloved husband, Leo H. Guerin, owned and operated Guerin's Variety Store in Chicopee Falls for many years and also owned several apartment buildings. Her devoted husband predeceased her in 1981. Germaine also worked at the former Albert Steiger Company, Springfield until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Chicopee, and was a longtime member of the church's St. Anne Society. Germaine loved the exercise group at the Chicopee Senior Center and enjoyed the Thursday Morning Bowling League in Springfield. She also loved playing cards with friends and shared many wonderful vacations with her family. Germaine was especially fond of her neighbors and enjoyed many special moments in their company. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She truly cherished her family and the many happy times spent together. Germaine is survived by her son, Robert L. Guerin and his wife Thelma of Haverhill; her daughter, Diana L. Chase and her husband Donald of West Springfield; her seven grandchildren, Robert Guerin, Jr. , Dr. John Guerin, Jennifer DiFranco, Elizabeth Chase, Holly Chase, Donald Chase III, and Amy Desrosiers; and seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Guerin, Annick, Kate and Drew Guerin, and Kiley and Katherine Chase. Germaine is also survived by a sister, Janet Sadowsky of Dudley; and a brother, Robert Coulombe of Lakeside, CA. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday 9:00 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Church, 7 Belcher Street, Chicopee. Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours will be held today at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Published in The Republican on 11/17/2004. Guest Book .
