Robert C. Vautrain Robert C. Vautrain 1917 - 2004 CHICOPEE - Robert C. Vautrain, 87 of James Street died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. Robert was born in Holyoke, lived in Bridgeport, Granby, South Hadley before moving to Chicopee in 1992. He was a graduate of Northeastern College and McCarthy Business School. He and his father owned and operated C. E. Vautrain Associates in Holyoke. An avid golfer, he has been a member of the Orchards Golf Club over 50 years and recently recorded his third hole-in-one. He was stationed in India from 1942-45 with United States Army's Counter Intelligence Corps during World War II. His wife Pearl F. (Reindeau) Vautrain died in 1999. He leaves a son Robert C. Vautrain Jr., of Whitinsville; a daughter Sandra Mocarski of Edgartown; two brothers Phillip and Charles Vautrain and two grandsons Michael and David Vautrain. A graveside service will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley Wednesday at 11am. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday 4-7pm at the Edward F. Day Funeral Home, 134 Chestnut Street, Holyoke.
