Edmond J. Landry SHIRLEY -- Edmond J. "Mike" Landry, 83, of 30 Chapel St., died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Shirley on Oct. 10, 1921, the son of Athanace and Lucy (Chaisson) Landry and was a lifelong Shirley resident. For over 40 years, Mr. Landry with his brother, Joe, owned and operated the Landry Brothers Garage in Shirley Village, retiring in 1984. Following his retirement from the garage, he worked for the Town of Shirley Water Department, Cemetery Department and Highway Department. During World War II, he served his country for four years in the United States Army Air Corps where he was stationed in England in the 339th Fighter Squadron. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was also a member in 1960 served as Commander of the George J. Morin American Legion Post 183 in Shirley. He was a member of the former North Middlesex County 40/8. He enjoyed woodworking, working in his vegetable garden, and spending time at his summer cottage in York Beach, Maine. Mr. Landry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anita E. (Bilodeau) Landry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edmond W. and Victoria Landry and James R. and Sharon Landry, all of Shirley; two brothers, Harold Landry and Athanace "Joe" Landry, both of Shirley; a sister, Rose Quatrale of Shirley; and two grandsons, Michael Landry and Douglas Landry, both of Shirley. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Landry of Exeter, N.H. and Robert Landry of California; and a sister, Beatrice Briggs, of Ayer. LANDRY -- On Nov. 20, Edmond J. Landry, 83, of Shirley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 14 Phoenix St., Shirley. Burial with military honors will be in the Village Cemetery.
