Kathleen Francis Bergeron 2004-11-04 Kathleen Francis Bergeron Aug. 7, 1945 - Nov. 3, 2004 Kathleen Francis Lesseigne Bergeron, 59, a native of Morgan City and resident of Berwick, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. Kathleen will always be remembered as a loving, kind lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was very good with her needlework abilities and loved to crochet and embroider. She loved to sit down and spend time relaxing with a good puzzle. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time camping and fishing. Kathleen had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make you smile any chance she could. Her love for animals was reflected in her love for her cats and dogs. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way. She was the daughter of the late Everette Lesseigne and the late Lucille Russo Lesseigne. She is survived by her husband, Paul Bergeron of Berwick; one son, Mark Bergeron of Berwick; one sister, Beatrice "Dee" Grandin of Pierre Part; and two grandchildren, Brittany Bergeron and Brennon Bergeron. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Priscilla Daigle; and a son, Shawn Bergeron. Pallbearers to serve will be Jeff LaCoste Jr., Calvin Bergeron Jr., Calvert LaHoste, Dwayne Grandin, Brian Gagneaux and Justin Voisin. Honorary pallbearer will be Brennon Bergeron. Bob Galloway officiating. Burial was in the Lemoine Cemetery in Colfax. Lemoine, 56, of Pineville, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. A long-time resident of Patterson, he died Oct. 26, 2004, in his daughter's home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be observed Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City. Visitation will resume Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethel Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Marty Harden and the Rev. Steve Manville at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. Delma had a passion for living. He lived his life in a way that brought pleasure to his friends and family. Mr. LaCoste knew that his life was not his own, but belonged to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. LaCoste was a faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Patterson. Delma was a devoted family man who poured his energies into that which he loved. Delma loved the outdoors. Early in his life he was a Quarter Boat Captain for John Opperman and was a commercial fisherman. Mr. LaCoste found great pride being the oldest and wisest Journeyman Electrician in the State of Louisiana. Delma was the owner and operator of Dels Electrical Co. He was the electrical contractor of choice for the surrounding areas' larger commercial buildings. The abundant talent Delma possessed will live on through his son, who also is an accomplished electrician. Mr. LaCoste is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Giroir LaCoste; three loving children, Cathy LaCoste Wiese and husband, Gerald Sr., of Morgan City, Delma "Buddy" C. LaCoste and wife, Dianna, of Ashville, Ala., and Dianne LaCoste Weeks and husband, Jerry, of Berwick; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He also had numerous nephews and nieces; three brothers and one sister, Sterling LaCoste Sr. and wife, Mary Ann, of Bayou Vista, John "JC" LaCoste and wife, Patricia, of Berwick, Kenneth LaCoste and wife, Linda, of Berwick, and Shirline LaCoste Amador and husband, Charles, of Berwick; and two wonderful caregivers of Hospice, Elanor Lee and Annie Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lillian LaCoste; his sister, Agnolia LaCoste; his grandson, Shane LaCoste; and his brothers, Aubrey, Clayton, Russell and Ara; and his twin sisters, Elda and Ella. "Mike" Thomas, 89, a native of Berwick and a resident of Schriever died Monday at 11:15 a.m. He was a retired draftsman/surveyor with Carl Heck Engineers and a retired U.S. Marine who served in World War II. Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma will be in charge of arrangements. ********************** Florence Ella Adoue Gautreaux 2004-10-26 Florence Ella Adoue Gautreaux June 6, 1907 - Oct. 24, 2004 Florence Adoue Gautreaux, 97, a native of Ellendale and resident of Albany, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at her residence. She was a Morgan City resident for over 84 years. Florence was a very active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City, serving the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her love of God and her dedication to the church was a major part of her life and the life of her family. She was a strong woman of faith who taught her family the value of serving God and our fellow man. She loved life and the many pleasures that life had to offer. She loved to cook for her family, teaching them the value of three meals a day. She was a dependable wife and mother who always put her family first in everything that she did. She had a great sense of humor and loved to bring a smile to the faces of those she came in contact with. She loved gardening and, at one time, was quite a bowler, having been on a bowling league while in her 70s. She always will be known as a "spunky" lady who loved playing cards and for her trips to the casino. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the daughter of the late Octave Adoue and the late Ernestine Boyer Adoue. She is survived by one daughter, Lynrose Dowdy and her husband, Edward, of Albany; two sons, David Lee Gautreaux and his wife, Dolly, of New Orleans and Timothy Martin Gautreaux and his wife, Winborne, of Hammond; seven grandchildren, Robert Gautreaux, Thomas Gautreaux, Kathi Landry, David Dowdy, Susan Gray, Leslie Gautreaux and Travis Dowdy; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Breaux was Catholic by faith. Virginia was born to the late Sam and Eva Toups on Jan. 22, 1931, in Baytown, Texas. She was passionate about life and lived it in a way that not only brought pleasure to herself but to those she dearly loved. Virginia was gifted with abundant talent. Throughout her lifetime she lovingly fashioned many exquisite gifts for her family and friends. The exquisitely crafted quilts and other idioms will be treasured for many generations to come. Mrs. Breaux leaves behind one son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Lisa Breaux of Morgan City; one daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Bennie Robinson of Wildwood, Texas; two sisters, Doris Vizier of Galliano, and Jonnie and Henry Dlabay of Mount Belleview, Texas; two brothers, Wilfred and Fredia Toups of Galliano and Floyd and Joann Toups of Baton Rouge; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and several brothers and sisters. Hargrave Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. ******************* John Joseph "Johnny" Landry 2004-10-22 John Joseph "Johnny" Landry March 4, 1923-October 22, 2004 John Joseph "Johnny" Landry, 81, a native of Four Mile Bayou and a resident of Amelia, died today, Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. He was a Christian by Faith. A hard worker, a man of courage and a man of many friends and a real "ladies man." That best describes the life of Johnny. He loved life and the many exciting things life had to offer. He loved dancing, Cajun music, hunting, fishing and camping. Johnny loved the water and his life was reflective of that fact. Starting his boat career at the tender age of 15 on shrimp boats, Johnny knew quickly that the water was his passion. He would continue his career as a boat captain for 25 years with Tidewater and 22 years with Galaxy. Above all that he loved, nothing compared to the love he had for his friends and family. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way. He was the son of the late Edward Landry and the late Leona Fryou Landry. He is survived by his three daughters, Christine Bergeron of Morgan City, JoAnn Partain and her husband, Brad, of Morgan City and Nancy Comeaux of Amelia; three sons, Steve Landry of Bayou L'Ourse, Thomas Landry Sr. and his wife, Nikki, of Amelia and Benny Michell and his wife, Hilda, of Bayou L' Ourse; one sister, Leona Landry of Berwick; his Godfather, William Fryou of Amelia; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 22 years, the late Lillian Scadlock Landry and his second wife of 22 years, the late Hilda Michell Landry; two sisters, Hilda Landry Hampton and Lillian Landry Beadle; and one brother, B.L. Landry.
