Linwood J. Belisle, 81 WWII veteran, served in Battle of the Bulge EDGARTOWN - Linwood J. Belisle, 81, died Wednesday at Martha's Vineyard Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Doris E. Keenan for 58 years. Mr. Belisle was born in Boston and educated in Boston and Edgartown. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division. He parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and into Holland. He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Deborah Pederson of Spydeberg, Norway; six grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew. He was also the father of Ralph Vincent Belisle, who died in 1992. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Old Westside Cemetery, Edgartown.
