Roland Laurion ROCHESTER - Roland J. Laurion, 72, of 8 Elizabeth St., died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at his home following a long illness. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Gonic on June 3, 1931, the son of Adelard and Eva (Berthiaume) Laurion. He was a lifetime resident of this area. He worked as a millwright for more than 33 years for Simplex Wire & Cable Co. in Newington, prior to his retirement. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He built violins as a hobby, and also enjoyed golfing and gardening. His family described him as being a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by seven of his siblings. Surviving family members include his beloved wife of 51 years, Irene (Gagnon) Laurion of Rochester; two daughters, Carmen Garland and Lucille Laurion, both of Rochester; a son, Paul Laurion of North Berwick, Maine; a brother, Henry Laurion of Gonic; three sisters, Betty Tanguay of Gonic, Cecile Normand of Rochester and Irene Bombay of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Rochester; nine grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. --- Visitation at H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Rochester.
