Thursday, November 18, 2004 Carol Ann Friscia 1939-2004 MONTEREY, Calif. -- Carol Ann Friscia, born in Augusta, Maine, on June 22, 1939, to Winifred and Phillip Violette, died Nov. 14, 2004, in Monterey from complications following lung surgery. Carol is survived by her husband, Joe Friscia; daughter Renee De Voe of Madrid, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Camille Friscia Contreras of San Jose, and Vivian, Joshua and Michael De Voe of Madrid; niece Anne Friscia of Santa Cruz; aunt Mavis Wilson and cousin Kevin Wilson of Camden, Maine; and stepbrother William Condon of Augusta. After graduation from Cony High School in Augusta, she lived in Boston, where she worked and studied until she became an American Airlines stewardess and moved to San Francisco. Carol and Joe were married Nov. 23, 1963, and lived in Saratoga from 1967 until 1995, when they retired to the Monterey Peninsula. In Saratoga, Carol was completely devoted to raising her two children, Renee and Jody, who were very active in dance, theater, music and sports. Her own involvement in arts and music led her to start her own successful business specializing in public relations activities for performing-arts groups. She served on the board of directors of San Jose Children's Musical Theater and as the executive director until retirement. The funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Cathedral in San Jose. Visitation will occur 7:30-9:30 p.m. today at Alameda Family Funeral Home, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
