    3. Howard G. Chevalier Howard G. Chevalier 1917 - 2004 SOUTH HADLEY - Howard George Chevalier, 87, of Newton Street, died November 11 at his home. Born in Holyoke, August 8, 1917, he was the son of the late George J. and Mina (Gagnon) Chevalier. Howard was raised in Holyoke and lived there for many years before moving to S. Hadley 20 years ago. He worked as a knife operator for both White & Wyckoff Manufacturing in Holyoke and Renner Davis Co. in Springfield before retiring. He was an accomplished musician, playing both the clarinet and saxophone in a band that traveled extensively. Howard will be missed by his nieces, Joan Frey of Springfield, Beverly Wilson and Nancy Laroche of South Hadley, and Cynthia Fowler of Maryland and New York, along with his nephews, James Peetz of South Hadley and John Peetz of Belchertown. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, and their wives, Lester and Helen Chevalier, and George and Hazel Chevalier, and his sister and her husband, Lillian and Albert Peetz, along with his nephew, Daniel Chevalier. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Hermina "Blondie" Tracy. At Howard's request, private funeral services were held at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home and St. Patrick's Church. He was buried in Notre Dame Cemetery.
