    3. ALFRED E. BOLLENGIER JR. - Warwick 01:00 AM EST on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 ALFRED E. BOLLENGIER JR., 82, of Commonwealth Avenue, a retired lawyer, died yesterday at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Gertrude (Taillon) Bollengier; they had been married for 58 years. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Alfred E. Bollengier Sr. and Cora E. (Maynard) Bollengier, he had lived in Warwick since 1951. He was a graduate of the former Rhode Island State College, now the University of Rhode Island, Northeastern University, in Boston, and Boston College, where he received his law degree. Mr. Bollengier had practiced law out of his office on Post Road for 34 years before retiring in 1994. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a technical sergeant in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, participating in the campaigns of Normandy, the Ardennes, Central Europe, the Rhineland and Northern France. His honors included a Silver Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters, five Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts, for wounds received in Germany and France. Mr. Bollengier performed his first sky jump at the age of 79. A member for 25 years of the East Greenwich Power Squadron, and a member of the East Greenwich Yacht Club, he held a maritime captain's license. He was an avid fisherman and boatman. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Robert E. Bollengier of West Greenwich, Richard L. Bollengier of Warwick and Ronald A. Bollengier of Boston; and two grandchildren. He was the father of the late Mary Bollengier. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave. (Route 5), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
