She was born in St. Isodore de Prescott, Ontario, Canada, July 29, 1915, daughter of the late Remi W. Sr. and Clara (Bercier) Gratton. She grew up in Westford, Vt. She married Joseph Lawrence Frazier on June 17, 1935, in St. Anne Catholic Church in Milton. He died June 16, 1982. She is survived by four daughters, Shirley LaBounty and Katherine (Charles) DiLuzio, Keene, Elizabeth (Robert) Nutter, Englewood, Fla., and Thelma (Greg) Lawrence, Pelham; and a son, Ronald (Linda) Frazier, Goshen, Conn.; five sisters, Loretta Beaupre, Milton, Vt., Blanche Atwood, Ware, Mass., Clara Piche, Winter Springs, Fla., Yvonne Gratton, Burlington, Vt., and Gladys (Fred) Lane, South Hero, Vt.; two brothers, Remi Jr. (Elena) Gratton, Wilmington, N.C., and Arnold (Janice) Gratton, Huntington, Vt.; one brother-in-law, George Roy of Burlington; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Edward LaBounty; her stepmother, Adeline (Pratt) Gratton; two sisters, FloreIda Roy and Anita Lesage; and three brothers, Brother Romuald Therrien, S.S.E., Francis Therrien and Frederick Therrien. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Oct. 29, in St. Bernard Catholic Church in Keene, followed by a burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Keene.     3. 11/02/2004MARION R. KAIGLE BURLINGTON - Marion R. Kaigle, 78, of Burlington, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, with her family at her side in Fletcher Allen Health Care following a long illness. She was born in Burlington on July 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Gerald and Elizabeth (Beseau) Grow. Marion graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Fanny Allen School of Nursing, graduating in 1944. She was married on Sept. 24, 1949, to Leonard J. Kaigle in St. Anthony Church. She was a past president of the Eagle's Club 793 Ladies Auxiliary and belonged to the St. John's Club. Marion is survived by her husband, Leonard J. of Burlington; three children, David A. and his wife, Leslie, of Burlington, Barbara L. Benoit and her husband, Raymond, of Burlington, and Elizabeth A. Kline of Three Rivers, Mich.; six grandchildren, Jason, Michele, Anthony, Sue, Matthew and Michele; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son, John Paul in 1988, and by three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with interment to follow in Lake View Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to one's favorite charity.     3. 11/02/2004SEAN F. CHARBONNEAU ST. GEORGE - Sean F. Charbonneau, 35, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in Fletcher Allen Health Care after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Burlington on Sept. 13, 1969, the son of Richard A. and Regina (Deuso) Charbonneau. On Sept. 12, 1992, he married the former Stacie L. Benoit in St. Jude's Church in Hinesburg. Sean had been employed in the auto parts departments of both NAPA Auto Parts and Shearer's Pontiac Dealership. He was a longtime loyal member of the Hinesburg Fire Department and the Williston Fire Department for a total of 18 years. He also was a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Service. Along with hunting and fishing, Sean enjoyed NASCAR auto racing, having worked on race cars at Thunder Road. He will be well remembered for loving a good time with family and friends. Sean is survived by his wife of 12 years, Stacie and their two boys: Kyle and Keith, all of St. George; his father and his wife, Richard and Karen Charbonneau of Hinesburg; his mother and her husband, Regina and Edward McGrath of Morrisville; his brothers and sisters: Heather, Richard II, Sara, Erica, William and his wife, Brandi, Edward and his wife, Rebecca and Michael and his fiancee, Kari. He also leaves his wife's family: his father-in-law, Wayne Benoit I of St. George; a brother-in-law, Wayne II and his fiancee Tracy; a sister-in-law, Wendy and her husband, Leonard; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially his "second family", the members of the Vermont Fire Service. The funeral will be conducted in the Fireman's Tradition. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude's Church, Hinesburg with interment following in Deerview Cemetery, Williston. Barber, 78, a longtime resident of South Burlington, went to Our Lord on Nov. 1, 2004, at home with her beloved husband at her side. Dorothy was born in Burlington on Dec. 29, 1925, daughter of the late Arthur and Angeline (LaPlant) Bessette. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School. She was married in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Burlington on Feb. 15, 1947, to Arthur J. "Pat" Barber Jr. Mrs. B. retired in 1988 after 24 years as Executive Housekeeper at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. She was very dedicated to her job. She was a member of Executive Housekeeper Association and the Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband Pat. She is survived by her husband and dearest friend, Arthur "Pat" Barber; a special niece who was like a daughter and loved by her very much, Janie Jacobson and her husband Robert of Shelburne and their children Robert H. and Ensign Joseph Jacobson; also Pam and Roger Bassi, James and Donata Bessette and Jack Bessette, Patricia Memmo Reid and by special cousins, Sue and Bob LaVigne, Louise and George Fillmann and other cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, M/Sgt. Arthur Bessette on June 10, 2001; her sister, Rita Bassi on May 3, 2004; and by her nephew, Arthur Bassi on Feb. 28, 2002. A very special thank you to Julia, Ruth, Pat and Chris of Hospice of the Champlain Valley. These ladies were very dedicated to the care and love extended to Dorothy and Pat and family.     3. Jeannette S. Priddy LEOMINSTER -- Jeannette S. (Fortier) Priddy, 75, of 77 Tenth St., died Sunday, Oct. 31, at home after a long illness. She was born on Sept. 11, 1929, in Leominster, the daughter of Paul A. and Corinne (Beaudoin) Fortier and was a lifelong Leominster resident. She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg in 1947. She was a member of St. Anna's Church in Leominster. Mrs. Priddy sang for many years at the USO in Ayer with the 1st Army Band -- 18th Division from 1947 to 1951, where she met and married her husband. Mrs. Priddy worked as a licensed practical nurse at Leominster Hospital from 1968 until she retired in 1976 to open and operate the former East Coast Ceramics. She was also involved with the Girl Scouts for more than 20 years and enjoyed taking her girls on several trips to Washington, D.C., and Disneyland over the years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband. Mrs. Priddy was a devout Catholic who made Rosaries for several missions here in the United States and overseas. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Charles E. Priddy of Leominster; one son, Skip, and his wife, Marian Priddy, of Leominster; two daughters, Christine Moore of Florida and Carolyn Eaton of Leominster; five grandchildren, Cassandra and Erik Priddy, Kristofer Perkins, Marcia Keene and her husband, David -- all of Leominster; two great-grandchildren, Emberlee Perkins and Riley Keene; one brother, Robert Fortier of Melbourne, Fla.; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.     3. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 Real Joseph Grenier 1922-2004 WATERVILLE -- Real Grenier passed peacefully on Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his home, surrounded by his wife and loved ones. Real was born on March 19, 1922, in St. Germaine, Canada, the eldest son born of Paul and Albertine Drouin Grenier. Real came to live in Waterville when he was 1 year old. He was educated in Jackman and Waterville schools. He worked at the Lockwood Mill and Maine Central Railroad until he started a flooring business, "Grenier Flooring Co.," on College Avenue in Waterville. He married Gloria Cyr of Fairfield on June 2, 1945, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. Together they had 11 children (in order of birth): Patricia Cohen and husband Norman of Anaheim, Calif., and family, James Grenier and wife Marianne of Waterville and family, Robert Grenier of Waterville and family, Richard Grenier of Pasadena, Calif., and family, Carol Cummings and husband Steve of Sidney and family, Stephen Grenier of West Palm Beach, Fla., and family, Mark Grenier of Sidney and family, Donna Cryder of Olympia, Wash., and family, David Grenier of Las Vegas, Nev., Danny Grenier of Albion and family, and Jeffrey Grenier of Benton and family. Real was predeceased by two brothers, Lewis of Waterville and Roland of Connecticut. He is survived by his brothers and their families, Norman and Yvonne Grenier of Apple Valley, Calif., and Richard and Cecile Grenier of Waterville. Real is also survived by his dear wife, Gloria, and 11 children, 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mary Gower of Waterville, Julie Fortin of Waterville, and Dorothy Landwehr of Oakland; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass will be celebrated for family and friends at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at St. Francis de Sales Church. Real was a Red Sox fan and watched the World Series with some loved ones. She was born on Dec. 17, 1929, in Brewer, a daughter of Lavern and Virginia (Day) Bissell. Gloria, also known as Go Go, worked several years as a waitress. She was also in the grandparent program for 11 years at Hilltop Day Care in Bangor. She loved the ponies and doggy races, and to watch the Red Sox. These were her favorite things to do. She was loved by all her children and grandchildren, but most of all by her husband, whom she called Daddy. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Gena. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold L. Furrow Sr. of Newport; her father, Lavern Bissell; her children, Harold Jr. of West Virginia, Robin Goodness and her husband, Gary, of Newport, Bruce E. Furrow of New York, Jay Allen Furrow of Newburgh, Peter John Furrow and his wife, Brenda, of Dixmont, Sharon Moore and her husband, Denis, of Etna, and Debbie Lizotte and her husband, Junior, of Veazie; one brother, Richard of Dedham; one sister, Pee Wee of Eddington; several grandchildren and few great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was born on April 29, 1919 in Biddeford, a daughter of Joseph and Marie Bergeron Brunelle. Jeannette graduated Valedictorian from St. Joseph's High School, Class of 1936. Mrs. Boutin was employed by St. Joseph's Credit Union in Biddeford for 19 years. She was a member and past president of St. Joseph's Ladies Guild. Mrs. Boutin was a parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard E. Boutin Sr. in November of 1992. She was also predeceased by a son, Roger A. Boutin in July of 1999. She is survived by two sons, Gerard E. Boutin of Biddeford and Norman Boutin of Biddeford; a daughter, Anita Boutin of Biddeford; a sister, Lucille Beaudoin of Biddeford; two grandchildren, James P. Boutin, and Joseph A.     3. Doris Putnam Waltham - Doris (Blanchard) Putnam, the mother of a Tyngsboro woman, died yesterday, Nov. 1, in Caritas Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton after a short illness. She was 93. She was born in Danvers, a daughter of the late Fred and Melita (McPhetris) Blanchard. She graduated from Holten High School in Danvers in 1928, the Nasson Institute in Springvale, Maine, and the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in 1936. Mrs. Putnam was a Waltham Public School nurse for 31 years before retiring in 1982. She had worked for the Waltham Visiting Nurses Association for seven years before joining the school department. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Waltham for more than 60 years. Mrs. Putnam was also a life member of the Palestine Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars in Newton, the Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge, a charter member of the Massachusetts School Nurse Association and a member of Peter Bent Brigham Nurse Alumnae Association and the Retired Municipal Employees Association of Waltham. Her survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sally and Russell Green of Waltham, and Cynthia Rich of Tyngsboro; eight grandchildren, Dale Fraser and his wife, Diana, of Waltham, Jay Fraser and his wife, Donna, of Newport, N.H., Rebecca Reed and her husband, Thomas, of Waltham, Sindia Swederski and her husband, Richard, of Norton, Vicki Gadolin and her husband, Scott, of Marietta, Ga., Cheryl Sylvester and her husband, Mark, of Woburn, and Ronald Rich and Tammy Rich, both of Tyngsboro; five great-grandchildren, Brendan and Matthew Fraser of Waltham, Joshua Fraser of Newport, N.H., and Erik and Andrew Swederski of Norton; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Lambert Sr., 83, a resident of Dracut and a former longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 31, at his home. He was the husband of Doris M. (L'Heureux) Lambert for 62 years. Born in Lowell on July 24, 1921, he was a son of the late Thomas and Harriette (Pelchat) Lambert. Mr. Lambert was a longtime communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and more recently of Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Parish. Mr. Lambert had worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Highway Department, and owned and operated Lambert Floor Sanding. He was retired. He was a member of the Club Passe Temps in Lowell. Surviving him besides his wife are a son, Arthur J. Par la suite, la dépouille mortelle sera transportée à Sherbrooke où elle sera exposée à la cathédrale St-Michel lundi 4 novembre de 19h à 21h; mardi de 10h à 12h; de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h; mercredi de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles qui auront lieu à 14h, suivies de la déposition dans la crypte. Mgr Fortier laisse dans le deuil une soeur: madame Rose-Marie Fortier-Deschamps (Dr Richard Deschamps) de Fort Myers, Floride; deux frères: M. Marius Fortier (feu Jacqueline Garneau) et Jacques Fortier (feu Huguette Villeneuve), tous deux de Québec, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines. Fils de feu Stanislas Fortier et de feu Hélène Desparois, il est né à Montréal, le 14 novembre 1925. Après ses études classiques au Collège de Montréal et au Collège Sainte-Marie, il entre au Noviciat des Missionnaires Oblats de Marie Immaculée à Saint-Laurent, Manitoba en 1946. Il poursuit des études en philosophie et en théologie au Scolasticat de Lebret, Saskatchewan. Il est ordonné prêtre à Ville-LaSalle le 12 juin 1952. De 1953 à 1994, il est professeur au Collège et Faculté Saint-Jean, à Edmonton, Alberta avec quelques interruptions pour parfaire ses études en latin, en grec et en Écriture sainte. En 1998, il reçoit son obédience pour la Maison de l'Assomption à Ottawa, où il résidera jusqu'à sa mort. Il laisse dans le deuil, outre sa famille religieuse, ses soeurs: Thérèse (Dr Olivier Gendron) de Berthierville et Claire (feu Hubert Ricard) de Montréal; ses quatre tantes, ses cousines, cousins et de nombreux parents et amis. Fortier, retired associate director of the Family Life Office of the Los Angeles arrchdiocese, died Tuesday, January 5, at Santa Teresita Hospital, Duarte. He was 79. Monsignor Fortier was active until illness forced him to retire last October. From 1980 until then, he had been in residence at Divine Saviour parish in Los Angeles. A native of St. Isidore, Dorchester, Quebec, Charles Fortier was born on February 1, 1919, and did his early studies in Canada. From 1944 to 1945, he studied for the priesthood at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and was ordained for the Diocese of Lafayette in Louisiana on March 17, 1945. He served in various parishes in Louisiana and, from 1949 until 1965, served as business manager and editor of the Lafayette diocesan newspaper. He became a U.S. citizen in 1950. Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, Father Fortier earned several graduate degrees, including a 1952 doctorate in education. Pope John XXIII named him a domestic prelate with the title “monsignor” on July 21, 1961. He came to Los Angeles in 1980 to work with Spanish Marriage Encounter and became associate director of the Archdiocese’s Family Life Office on April 4, 1983. On August 20, 1990, Monsignor Fortier formally became a priest of the Los Angeles Archdiocese. He is survived by his brothers Henri Taul of Ottawa; Louis Philip of Victoria, B.C.; Pierre of Louisiana; Guy Laval of Montreal; and by his sisters Marie Helene Boudreaux of Montreal and Sister Marie Pauline Fortier of the Grey Nuns of the Cross, Ottawa.
