Le Père Gingras est né à St-Apollinaire de Lotbinière,le20septembre 1919. Son père sappelait Alidor et sa mère Marie-Louise Noël. Jeune le Père Yvon fréquenta le Patro St-Hyacinthe. À lâge de 20 ans, il entra au Noviciat des Religieux de St-V.-de-Paul où il prononça ses premiers voeux le 15 août 1941. Après avoir parcouru les degrés du sacerdoce, il fut ordonné prêtre le 29 juin 1947. La carrière apostolique du Père Gingras le conduit dabord au Patro Le Prévost, puis au Patro Roc-Amadour. En 1951, il devient Directeur du Juniorat Ste-Marie à Charlesbourg. En 1953, il est nommé 1 er Supérieur de Les Buis-sonnets à Montréal. Après six ans à Montréal, il devient Supérieur au Patro de Lévis. Puis le Père revient à Montréal comme chapelain à lInstitut Dominique-Savio. En 1983, le Père Gingras prend sa retraite à Otterburn Park. Le Père Yvon Gingras laisse dans le deuil les membres de sa congrégation, les membres de sa famille: sa soeur, Rita (feu Maurice Lamontagne); sa belle-soeur, Rose-Aimée (feu Gérard Gingras), ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines, bienfaiteurs et amis. Après avoir fait ses études au Collège Garnier, au Grand Séminaire de Québec et à lUniversité Laval, il fut ordonné à la prêtrise le 22 mai 1948. Nommé au Séminaire de Québec lannée suivante, il fut pendant cinq ans maître de salle au Petit Séminaire et y enseigna les mathématiques de 1949 à 1953. De 1953 à 1956, il fut assistant du procureur au Service forestier et au Service des fermes du Séminaire de Québec et membre du Conseil pendant plusieurs années. Il fit ensuite des études en gestion des affaires à lUniversité Western Ontario et, à partir de 1957, occupa plusieurs fonctions administratives à lUniversité Laval comme directeur adjoint des Presses de lUniversité, procureur adjoint de lUniversité, procureur adjoint et directeur du Service des achats, trésorier, administrateur trésorier, vice-recteur aux affaires administratives et adjoint au recteur. Il fut membre du Conseil exécutif de lUniversité, membre du Conseil de lUniversité, de plusieurs comités internes, du Comité des finances et des affaires administratives de lUniversité et de la Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec. Il fut également vice-président, puis président de lAssociation canadienne du personnel administratif universitaire (CAUBO) et, à partir de 1973, membre du Conseil dadministration de lhôpital de lEnfant-Jésus. En 1989, il devint membre du Conseil dadministration de la Société dhabitation Cardinal-Vachon, en plus dêtre mandataire de lArchevêque jusquen 1997, de coordonner les campagnes de souscription de 1990 et 1999 pour lUnité de soins Cardinal-Vachon et dagir comme directeur général de 1995 à 2003. Il reçut lOrdre du Canada en 1990. Il exerça en outre son ministère dominical et pastoral à la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Foy de 1954 à 1959 et de 1988 à 1999 (Chemin néo-catéchuménal) et à la Cité universitaire, chez les étudiants, de 1959 à 1967. Né à Laurierville, il était le fils de feu Alphonse Gingras et de feu Mélanie Lemieux. Il laisse dans le deuil son frère, Thomas, de Laurierville, et sa soeur, Germaine. s.c.s.l., de Lévis, plusieurs neveux et nièces, et de nombreux amis. En 1932, après ses études au Collège de Lévis,le P.Gingrasentra au noviciat des Jésuites. Il devint prêtre en 1951. Il se dépensa une quinzaine dannées comme professeur au Collège Sainte-Marie. Puis ce fut le départ pour Paris doù il revint, après des études à la Sorbonne, avec une licence ès lettres classiques et un diplôme détudes supérieures en langues classiques. Il enseigna ensuite au juvénat de la Compagnie de Jésus au Sault-au-Récollet. Il fut vice-provincial pour le secteur de léducation et eut plusieurs années la responsabilité des Publications des Facultés jésuites. À partir de 1974, il sadonna avec dévouement et grand intérêt au ministère pastoral à léglise du Gesù et à la Résidence Champlain. Il célébra la messe et entendit les confessions pour la dernière fois vendredi dernier. He also worked part-time as a lawn-mower repairman. He was a former member of the Somerset Fishing Club and enjoyed deep-sea fishing. He leaves two sons, the Rev. Everett G. He was the husband of Doris Monast. They had been married for 61 years. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Calixte and Dorina (Lapointe) Monast. Mr. Monast had been the owner and operator of the former Monarch Appliance for over 50 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at Notre Dame Parish and the Knights of Columbus, and a former president of the Notre Dame Golf League. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dennis Monast of Berkley, Mass.; five sisters, Irene Levesque of Fall River, Lorraine Marceau of Westport, Julie Smith and Claire Carpenter, both in Florida, and Terri Arntz in Virginia; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cecile R. Shewchuk Cecile R. Shewchuk 1919 - 2004 AGAWAM - Cecile R. ( Labrie ) Shewchuk, 84, of Agawam, died Nov. 2, 2004 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Born in Holyoke on Dec. 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and Anna (Sansoucie) Labrie. She worked in the Circulation Department of the former Transcript Telegram Newspaper for several years before her retirement. She was the wife of the late Edward Shewchuk who died in 2000, and was also predeceased by her grandson, Deputy Brian R. Litz in 2004. She is survived by her son, Leonard and his wife Shirley of Agawam; her daughter, Nancy Litz and her husband Raymond of Agawam; a brother, Norman Labrie; and two sisters, Edna St. Sauveur and Claire DeRoy, all of Chicopee; two grandchildren, Kevin Shewchuk and Scott Litz; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Litz and Jack Litz. Anita Landry Anita Landry 1918 - 2004 EASTHAMPTON - Anita (DeBarge) Landry, 86, of Northampton Street, Easthampton, died Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. She was born July 21, 1918 in Easthampton, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Marchand) DeBarge. She attended Notre Dame Parochial Schools and was a graduate of Easthampton High School. She was a lifelong communicant of the Notre Dame Parish, a former member of the Circle Notre Dame and the Northampton Country Club. She was the widow of George Landry who died in 1998. She was employed by the former Ruby Furniture Co. of Easthampton. She was a co-founder of the Landry Furniture Co. with her husband in Easthampton in 1956, and was a director and bookkeeper of the company. She is survived by two sons, Robert Landry of Easthampton and Frank Landry of Pasadena, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Francene Besko, died in 1977, and a granddaughter, Melinda Besko, died in 2001. The funeral will be Wednesday Nov. 10 at 9:15 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, all of Easthampton. CULLEN. Marie (Daoust) Cullen, 85, widow of Eugene E. Cullen of East Hartford died Saturday (July 8, 1995). Born August 1, 1909 in Athelston, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late J. Mathias and Matilde (Larche) Daoust. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Pittsfield, Mass., where she attended local schools, and business college, and she became a naturalized citizen. She was married on June 20, 1936. Following the death of her husband in 1950, she was employed by the East Hartford School system, as a secretary of the Silver Lane Elementary School, and the Penny High School and at the time of her retirement in 1976, was Office Manager at the East Hartford High School. She was secretary of the East Hartford Redevelopment Commission for many years. A 59 year resident of East Hartford, she was a communicant of Saint Mary's Church, and a life member of the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by four sons, Thomas M. Cullen and John J. Cullen, both of East Hartfo! rd, Eugene E. Cullen Jr., of Cromwell, and James C. Cullen of Bethel; two daughters, Patricia A. Fliakos of West Hartford, and Honora M. Futtner of South Windsor; a brother, A. Odessa Daoust; two sisters, Lucille E. George and Alma R. Premerlani, all of Pittsfield, Mass.; 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services at Notre Dame Church and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pittsfield, were held Wednesday. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 15, at 9 a.m., at Saint Mary's Church. Kathleen Francis Bergeron 2004-11-04 Kathleen Francis Bergeron Aug. 7, 1945 - Nov. 3, 2004 Kathleen Francis Lesseigne Bergeron, 59, a native of Morgan City and resident of Berwick, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. Kathleen will always be remembered as a loving, kind lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was very good with her needlework abilities and loved to crochet and embroider. She loved to sit down and spend time relaxing with a good puzzle. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time camping and fishing. Kathleen had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make you smile any chance she could. Her love for animals was reflected in her love for her cats and dogs. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way. She was the daughter of the late Everette Lesseigne and the late Lucille Russo Lesseigne. She is survived by her husband, Paul Bergeron of Berwick; one son, Mark Bergeron of Berwick; one sister, Beatrice "Dee" Grandin of Pierre Part; and two grandchildren, Brittany Bergeron and Brennon Bergeron. Mr. LaCoste knew that his life was not his own, but belonged to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. LaCoste was a faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Patterson. Delma was a devoted family man who poured his energies into that which he loved. Delma loved the outdoors. Early in his life he was a Quarter Boat Captain for John Opperman and was a commercial fisherman. Mr. LaCoste found great pride being the oldest and wisest Journeyman Electrician in the State of Louisiana. Delma was the owner and operator of Dels Electrical Co. He was the electrical contractor of choice for the surrounding areas' larger commercial buildings. The abundant talent Delma possessed will live on through his son, who also is an accomplished electrician. Mr. LaCoste is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Giroir LaCoste; three loving children, Cathy LaCoste Wiese and husband, Gerald Sr., of Morgan City, Delma "Buddy" C. LaCoste and wife, Dianna, of Ashville, Ala., and Dianne LaCoste Weeks and husband, Jerry, of Berwick; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was a Morgan City resident for over 84 years. Florence was a very active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City, serving the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her love of God and her dedication to the church was a major part of her life and the life of her family. She was a strong woman of faith who taught her family the value of serving God and our fellow man. She loved life and the many pleasures that life had to offer. She loved to cook for her family, teaching them the value of three meals a day. She was a dependable wife and mother who always put her family first in everything that she did. She had a great sense of humor and loved to bring a smile to the faces of those she came in contact with. She loved gardening and, at one time, was quite a bowler, having been on a bowling league while in her 70s. She always will be known as a "spunky" lady who loved playing cards and for her trips to the casino. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the daughter of the late Octave Adoue and the late Ernestine Boyer Adoue. He was a Christian by Faith. A hard worker, a man of courage and a man of many friends and a real "ladies man." That best describes the life of Johnny. He loved life and the many exciting things life had to offer. He loved dancing, Cajun music, hunting, fishing and camping. Johnny loved the water and his life was reflective of that fact. Starting his boat career at the tender age of 15 on shrimp boats, Johnny knew quickly that the water was his passion. He would continue his career as a boat captain for 25 years with Tidewater and 22 years with Galaxy. Above all that he loved, nothing compared to the love he had for his friends and family. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way. He was the son of the late Edward Landry and the late Leona Fryou Landry. Paul R. Cote August 13, 1963 - November 3, 2004 TAFTVILLE- Mr. Paul R. Cote of 20 South 3rd Ave., Taftville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at his home. He was born in Norwich, August 13, 1963, the son of the late Donald E. and Cecile (Lavoie) Cote of Taftville. A lifelong resident of the Taftville area Mr. Cote was a 1981 graduate of Norwich Regional Technical School. He has been employed as a building inspector for both the City of Norwich and the Town of Lisbon until the time of his death. Mr. Cote was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church Taftville, a 3rd Degree member of the Ponemah Council #34 Knights of Columbus and a member of the Hormidas C. Belec 4th Degree Assembly both of Taftville, an active member of the Taftville Volunteer Fire Dept., where he served as Captain, the New London County Fire Chiefs Assn., also a member of the CT Building Officials Assn., and the Maennerchor Club. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins fan. Besides his mother, Mr. Cote is survived by two brothers Dan J. Cote and his wife Sharon of Taftville and Roy R. Cote and his wife Lona also of Taftville, two sisters Nancy A. Miclette and her husband Charles of Taftville and Joanne M.
