She was born in Dickenson Center on Aug. 24, 1906, the daughter of Olin W. and Hattie S. (Besau) Bean. Duane G. Tremblay Champlain - Duane G. Tremblay, 64, of 1100 Main St., Champlain, died on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, surrounded by his family, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 5, 1940, the son of Leon (Snoot) Tremblay and Eunice (Maynard) Tremblay. Duane was a lifelong resident of Champlain. After graduating from M.A.I. in 1958, he worked for Tremblay Chevrolet Sales in Champlain until 1967 and for Anchor Motor Freight until 1970. From 1970 through 1993, he was the service manager at Bill McBride Chevrolet in Plattsburgh and from 1997 to the present, Duane was in charge of building maintenance at the Clinton County Sheriff's Department and Jail. He also owned and operated Tremblay Enterprises, a commercial locksmithing business. In April of 1962, Duane became a member of the Champlain Fire Department and remained active through 1989. He served as chief from 1965 - 1966 and later on the Clinton County Fire Coordinator team. His leisure time activities and hobbies have always included bowling, gardening, playing cards and horseshoes. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Barbara; a son, Kevin and wife Penny; three daughters, Kim Boyea and husband Jay, Krystal and Karrie; three grandchildren, Eric and Korey Tremblay and Amy Boyea, all of Champlain; several nieces and nephews; brothers Dale and his wife Dagne of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Deane and his wife Debi of Champlain. He was predeceased by his father, Leon and his mother, Eunice; and his twin daughters, Carol and Cheryl. At his request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church and interment will follow immediately at the parish cemetery. A reception in his honor will take place at the Knights of Columbus in Champlain following the burial service. Published: 11/9/04 Louis Dion Plattsburgh - Louis Dion, 73, of Oak Street, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in St. Sylvester, Quebec, Canada, on April 30, 1931, son of Rosaire and Yvonne (Drouin) Dion. Louis was a member of the Carpenter's Local 1042 for 37 years, having been employed by various local contractors, retiring in 1994 from Murnane Building Contractors. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, an avid fisherman and hunter and particularly enjoyed his wood- working shop. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and a good cigar while hooking a nice trout! Louis is survived by his wife, Monique (Farley) Dion of Plattsburgh; they were married in Canada on May 23, 1959; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and John Gratto of Ballston Spa and Estelle and Stephen Lapham of Beekmantown; and one son, Normand Dion of Plattsburgh; and nine grandchildren, Kristie, Nicholas and Stephanie Gratto, Shannon, Jason, Kayla and Brittany Lapham and Andre and Gabrielle Dion. He also leaves behind six sisters, Rita Huppe, Fernande Caux, Gisele Vachon and Rachel Dion of Quebec, Mrs. Robert (Cecile) Moffat of Peru and Florence Fontaine of Massachusetts. Louis is predeceased by his parents, Rosaire and Yvonne Dion; two sisters, Lucille Perreault and Jeanine Montminy; and three brothers, Marcel, Andre and Claude Dion. There will be no calling hours. Tuesday, November 9, 2004 Joyce Anne (Poulin) Chub BOXFORD -- Joyce Anne (Poulin) Chub, 74, died Sunday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She received her degree in nursing and was a geriatric nurse for the Oxford Manor Nursing Home in Haverhill. Mrs. Chub was a member, volunteer and fund-raiser for St. Mary's Church in Georgetown and a member of the Grange in Boxford. She worked for Boxford during elections, was involved in other town activities and was a Den mother and Brownie leader. She leaves her husband of 49 years Henry; daughter Marina Chub of North Andover; sons David of Shirley, Thomas and his wife Jeanne of Topsfield and Peter and his wife Amie of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers Thomas Poulin of Illinois, Michael Poulin of Florida, Tony Poulin and William Poulin, both of Maine, and their families; sisters Lucy Poulin of Maine and Mary Young of Florida and their families; and five grandchildren. Born and educated in Canada, Mrs. Beaudoin lived in Lawrence, Mass., and Haverhill, Mass., for many years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Salem American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 8546 and moved to St. Albans with her daughter last year. The widow of Joseph A. Beaudoin, she leaves her daughters Theresa and her husband Robert Knox of Nottingham, N.H.; Elaine and her husband Michael Delescluse of St. Albans; sons Wilfred Leman of New Mexico, Joseph A. and his wife Ann of Hampstead, N.H., Richard A. and his wife Stella of Haverhill and Peter A. and his wife Diane of Margate, Fla.; sisters Emilienne Levesque of Lawrence and Rolande Gauthier of Methuen; brother Albert Bourgoin of Plymouth, N.H.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 11/09/2004CLAIRE J. BURKE WINOOSKI - Claire J. Burke, 87, a longtime resident of Winooski died peacefully at her home Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. Claire was born in Bristol, Conn., May 5, 1917, the daughter of the late Roch and Beatrice (Corriveau) Provost. She was a graduate of Winooski High School, Class of 1936. She was married in Winooski, on May 2, 1943, to George T. Burke, who predeceased her on March 13, 1970. Claire served the City of Winooski in the clerk's office for nearly a half century, retiring as City Clerk in 1982. She was a member of the Winooski Senior Citizens, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and enjoyed knitting and playing cards with friends and family. Claire is survived by two children, Patrick Burke of Burlington, and Kathleen Glasserman and husband John of Essex Junction; a sister, Pauline Cartier and husband Alphonse of Clearwater, Fla.; a special niece, Anne Cartier of Colchester, and her three children who were like grandchildren to Claire, Barbara Burgess, David Hubbard, and Sarah Hubbard. Claire is also survived by her in-laws, Dr. Avery and Agnes King, Kenneth and Rita Smith, Alice and Lester McLure, and Eleanor Fox; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice and Edmund Provost; and by two brothers-in-law, John and Harold Burke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan, as well as the Daughters of Isabella. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Elmer; and a sister, Prudence "Chummy" Burger. She is survived by her son, Allan Dore of Stem, N.C.; grandchildren Tracey Dore and her sons Austin and Aaron of Fairfield; Jamie (Dore) Leuba and her husband, John, from Virginia; Jessika Duprey and her son, Isaiah Witham of Winslow; and Joshua Duprey of Winslow. Florence M. Mathieu MATHIEU Florence M. Mathieu, age 95, wife of the late Joseph Mathieu, died on Sunday, November 7, 2004, in Fairfield. Born in Quebec, Canada, she lived most of her life in West Hartford before moving to Fairfield three years ago. Florence was known to her family as an extraordinarily kind and loving person who was strong in her faith. She is survived by a son, Robert J. Mathieu and his wife, Maura, of West Hartford; a daughter, Madeleine Gauthier of Fairfield; six grandchildren: Diane Gauthier of Stratford, Therese DeSilva of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, Jacqueline LaPierre of Stratford, Sarah Galluzzo of Fairfield, Joseph B. Mathieu of Colchester, and Elizabeth Buczynski of Washington, D.C.; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. James H. "Jim" Brodeur Jr. STUART, Fla. - James H. "Jim" Brodeur Jr., 55, the father of a Pepperell resident, died Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Hospice Residence of Martin & St. Lucie. He was born in Lowell, a son of Grace O. Brodeur of Stuart, and moved to Stuart from Massachusetts a year ago. Mr. Brodeur was a helicopter crew chief in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a superintendent for Natgun Corp. in Massachusetts. Mr. Brodeur was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider, and also enjoyed boating. Le père Langevîn étudia aux juniorats de la Sainte-Famille à Saint-Boniface, Manitona et de Marie-Immaculée, à Chambly-Bassin (1929-1931), puis entra au noviciat de Ville-La-Salle le 20 juillet 1931 et fit profession le 21 juillet 1932. Il fit ensuite profession perpétuelle au scolasticat Saint-Joseph à Ottawa. le 8 septembre 1935, et fut ordonne prêtre, à Ottawa, le 11 juin 1938, par Mgr Guillaume Forbes, archevêque d'Ottawa. Il reçut son obédience pour le Lesotho, Afrique du Sud, en 1939 et se dévoua dans les postes suivants: collège de Roma (1939-1940), séminaire Saint-Augustin de Roma (1940-1942), d'où il passa à Saint James [Rafolatsane) (1942-1944), à Mazenod (1944-1945), devint supérieur et économe provincial à Roma (1945-1946), professeur à l'Université de Roma (1946-1947), se rendit à Mont Olivet (Thabana Morenal) (1947-1948) et, après un voyage au Canada (1948-1949), à Hermitage [Qacha's Nek] (1949-1951), au séminaire Sainte-Thérèse de Roma (1951-1965), à Sainte-Bernadette [Maseru] (1966-1972), tout en s'occupant des archives des Oblats. Il a été inhumé à Mazenod.

Il fait ses études classiques au Collège Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière et ses études théologiques au Grand Séminaire de Québec. Est ordonné prêtre à la basilique de Québec, le 7 juin 1941, par le cardinal J.-M. Rodrigue Villeneuve. En 1941, il est nommé prêtre-auxiliaire au Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière; de 1951 à 1954, vicaire à Saint-Patrice, Rivière-du-Loup; de 1954 à 1958, vicaire à LIslet; en 1958, vicaire à Sainte-Hélène; de 1959 à 1972, curé de Saint-Athanase; de 1972 à 1986, aumônier à la Maison provinciale des soeurs de lEnfant-Jésus à Rivière-du-Loup. En 1975, il est aussi nommé animateur suppléant de pastorale à lHôtel-Dieu de Rivière-du-Loup; de 1986 à 1995, animateur de pastorale au Foyer Villa Maria de Saint-Alexandre. En 1995, se retire au Collège Sainte-Anne. Depuis 1997, demeure à la Villa Saint-Jean à La Pocatière. Les membres de la famille recevront les condoléances à la Résidence funéraire Daniel Caron 680, Principale, Saint-Alexandre lundi de 19h à 22h et mardi de 11h à 13h55. Le service religieux sera célébré le mardi 9 novembre 2004 à 14 heures, en léglise de Saint-Alexandre suivi de linhumation au cimetière paroissial. Il laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Gertrude Landry s.c.q., plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, confrères prêtres et ami(e)s. (1909-1997) - 1934 (Victor-Philippe + Laurenza Langlois) Avis de deces La Presse 6-6-1997 LANDRY, Marcel, O.M.I. 1908-1997 À Notre Maison de Richelieu, le 5 juin 1997, à lâge de 88 ans et 5 mois, est décédé le Père Marcel Landry, Oblat de Marie-Immaculée, né à Bonsecours en 1908. Il était le fils de feu le Dr Victor Philippe Landry et de feu Laurenza Lan-glois. Il prononça ses voeux à Ville LaSalle, le 2 août 1931 et fut ordonné prêtre en 1934. Il part pour les missions au Keewatin et ensuite en Alberta. En revenant de mission, il séjourna à St-Zénon avant de venir à Richelieu en 1988. Il laisse dans le deuil outre ses confrères Oblats, ses soeurs, Madeleine Landry Robillard et Adrienne Landry Deniger; son frère, Jacques Landry (Simone Lenozack), ses belles-soeurs, Madeleine Fournier et Laurette Desjardins; et un beau-frère, Fleurimont Ménard. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à La Résidence des Oblats, 460 1ère Rue, Richelieu, le vendredi 6 juin à partir de 19 heures. Il y aura célébration de prières à 19h30.
