"Lee" Labonte, 65, of 180 Nonotuck Street in Holyoke was Called Safely Home on Friday November 5, 2004 from the Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home in West Springfield after a long illness. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina on August 11, 1939 a beloved daughter of the late Emile Louis Labonte and Carolyn (Havird) Labonte. Emily spent her childhood years in Hartford, Connecticut and later moved to Springfield and Holyoke. She leaves her dear brother Ronald Labonte and her dear sister, Cynthia Labonte and her beloved and faithful cat "Poncho". Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning November 10, 2004 at 8:15 a.m. from the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels (Phaneuf-Blais) 506 Britton Street in Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Chapel of Saint Jerome Church on Hampden Street in Holyoke. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery on Lyman Street in South Hadley. Born in Canada to his parents Theodore Asselin and Mary (Boucher) Asselin, he has lived in Springfield for his entire life. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in East Springfield. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. He worked as a meat cutter for Witkins Provision for 35 years before retiring around 1987. He leaves his wife Virginia (Gabanelli) Asselin; his 2 daughters Patty Pietrucci and her husband Larry of Springfield, and Debbie Grondin and her husband Gerry of Springfield. He is predeceased by his daughter Shirley Desilets who passed away around 1977. He leaves his brother Gerard Asselin of Springfield is predeceased by Gerard's wife Addrienne (Valencourt) Asselin who died around 1970. He is also predeceased by his 2 sisters Anita Cote and Fernande Roy.     3. Imelda M. Adams Imelda M. Adams 1908 - 2004 CHICOPEE - Imelda M. (Robert) Adams, 95, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday November 6, 2004. She was employed for several years as a sales clerk for the former Forbes and Wallace Department Store on Main Street in Springfield. She later worked for the former Lehouiller Variety Store on East Street in Chicopee Falls. She was born in Granby, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 30, 1908 a beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Matilda (Cadieux) Robert. She moved to Chicopee in 1928 where she lived until moving to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1966. She returned to the Chicopee area in 2000 and moved to Providence Place on Gamelin Street in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph H. Adams who was Called Home on January 21, 1974, her beloved sons, Arthur and Gerald Adams and her beloved daughter-in-law, Florence Adams who was Called Home on April 23, 1998. She leaves her loving children, Lucien P. Adams of Chicopee Falls, Donald O. Adams and his wife Caryn of Salt Lake City, UT, Albert J. Adams and his wife Anne of Chicopee and Doris M. Lefebvre and her husband David of Pinellas Park, FL. She also leaves her seven cherished grandchildren, Joan, Joyce, Barbara, Tori, Sharon, Mike and Norm. Her nine cherished great-grandchildren, Arthur, Paula, Perrie, Jordan, Alexandra, Zachary, Stephan, Alyssa and Nicholas. Her two cherished great great grandchildren, Shelby and Cassidy and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday November 11, 2004 at 9 a.m. at Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee.     3. Linwood J. Belisle, 81 WWII veteran, served in Battle of the Bulge EDGARTOWN - Linwood J. Belisle, 81, died Wednesday at Martha's Vineyard Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Doris E. Keenan for 58 years. Mr. Belisle was born in Boston and educated in Boston and Edgartown. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division. He parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and into Holland. He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Deborah Pederson of Spydeberg, Norway; six grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew. He was also the father of Ralph Vincent Belisle, who died in 1992. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Old Westside Cemetery, Edgartown.     3. Louise Lepore, 83 Owned Carol-Lisa Restaurant in Bourne HALLANDALE, Fla. - Louise (Rendine) Lepore, 83, a summer resident of Sagamore Beach, died Saturday at Windsor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Emilio Lepore. Mrs. Lepore was born in Providence, R.I. She owned Carol-Lisa Restaurant on MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne until retiring in 1975. She moved to Hallandale from Sagamore Beach in 1999 and then returned to summer on Cape Cod. She enjoyed cooking and being around people. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Lepore of Sagamore Beach and Lisa LePore-Swegart of Hyannis; two sons, Gary L. Lepore of California and William G. Lepore of Florida; a sister, Julia Barbari of Rhode Island; and two grandchildren. A funeral is at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Theresa's Church in Sagamore, preceded by visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Born in Van Buren, ME, a daughter of the late Charles and Azelda (Cyr) LaPlante, she had resided in East Hartford for the past 50 years. She graduated from Carney Hospital School of Nursing in South Boston, MA and had been a register nurse for the past 52 years. She was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables. Besides her devoted husband of 50 years, Mrs. Tilley is survived by two sons, Jack Tilley and his wife, Pam, of East Hartford, Greg Tilley of South Glastonbury; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and John Kiernan of Ponte Vedra, FL, Glenda and Bob Kearns of East Hampton; six adored grandchildren, Sean, Graig, Amy, Brianna, Jessica, and Luke. Florence was known to her family as an extraordinarily kind and loving person, who was strong in her faith. She is survived by a son, Robert J. Mathieu and his wife, Maura of West Hartford; a daughter, Madeleine Gauthier of Fairfield; six grandchildren, Diane Gauthier of Stratford, Therese DeSilva of Black Rock, Jacqueline LaPierre of Stratford, Sarah Galluzzo of Fairfield, Joseph B. Mathieu of Colchester and Elizabeth Buczynski of Washington, DC; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 6, 1985, in Hartford, he was a son of Roland Joseph Cyr of Colchester and Lynda Dawn (Shautt) Cyr of Manchester. He attended Bacon Academy in Colchester and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. Tim was a mechanic for John's Oil and Lube in Colchester. In his spare time, he enjoyed bicycle and dirt bike riding, loved reptiles of all kinds and played baseball, soccer and received his Brown/Black belt in Kempo Karate. An exceptional artist, he was known for his tattoo designs and will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his sister, Nicolle Cyr of Colchester; and his brother, Michael Cyr of Ft. Drum, NY. He was the grandson of Carol Hansen and the late James Hansen of East Hampton and Roland and Betty Cyr of Willimantic; and is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.     3. Florence (Ducharme) Boucher BOUCHER, Florence (Ducharme) Florence (Ducharme) Boucher, 71, formerly of Ellington and Parkway Pavillion, Enfield, loving wife of the late Deacon Richard A. Boucher, passed away peacefully, Sunday afternoon, (November 7, 2004) surrounded by her loving family. She was born in North Smithfield, RI, daughter of the late Albert and Aurore (Patrie) Ducharme. She was also pre-deceased by her brothers, Roland Ducharme and Rene Ducharme. She attended St. Claire High School, and worked in a bakery where she met her husband Richard. They were married on April 19, 1952, and went on to raise six children. She was very family oriented. Her children were her source of pride and she was always there when they needed her, she was their constant source of strength. Florence was an active member of St. Luke's Parish for many years. She also was supportive of her husbands ministry. Florence had a special gift for making people smile with her sense of humor and compliments whether they knew her or not. She had a special warmth in her heart for dogs. Florence is survived by her children and their spouses, Michele and Kenneth Niemann, Marc Boucher, Dawn and Ronald Morganson, Richard Jr. and Joyce Boucher, Rene Boucher and his partner, Lisa Bachman, Mary Beth and Jack Chiasson; her grandchildren, Joel, Jessica, Nathan, Naomi, Chris, Amanda, Chelsea, Meredith, Dustin, Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Spencer, Zachary, Joshua, Victoria, Andrew, Hannah, Hunter, Emma, and Kelly; her loving cousin, Margaret Ducharme; and her dear friends, Shirley Pellechia, and Muriel Allen.     3. Calvin E. Gurney 1925 - 2004 RUMFORD - Calvin E. Gurney, 78, widower of Viola C. "Vicky" (Theriault) Gurney of Wyman Hill Road, died Saturday, Nov. 6, at his home with his family and his beloved cat, "Kiya," at his side, following a long battle with emphysema. He was born in Hartford, on Nov. 28, 1925, a son of Dexter and Doris (Holland) Gurney. "Cal" was educated in local schools. He served in the U.S. Navy and was in the Invasion of Southern France where he was injured and was awarded the Purple Heart. He also served in the South Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1946. He was employed for 40 years with the Boise Cascade Paper Group, retiring in 1986 as a machine tender on No. 7 and No. 8 paper machines. He was a life-member of the American Legion. He was a member of the VFW, Purple Heart Association, L.C. I. Association, Rumford Lodge 826 BPOE, Fraternal Order of Eagles Rumford Aerie 1248, Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club. He enjoyed playing cards, deer, bobcat and rabbit hunting, fishing, snowshoeing and skiing. He was an avid sports fan who loved to follow the New York Yankees. He especially loved watching his grandchildren participating in their sporting events. He is survived by two sons, Glenn Gurney and wife, Debbie, of Dixfield, Jeffrey Gurney and companion, Donna Weston, of Dixfield; a daughter, Carrie A. Puiia and husband, Stephen, of Dixfield; a brother, Allen Gurney, of Rumford; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan, Katie and Craig Gurney, and Jessica Puiia; and one great-grandchild, DeVarae Gurney. He was predeceased by two brothers, Pete and Robert. A special thank you to Franklin Bank, his caregivers at Hospice, Tammy and Allison, his special friend, Jim Kenney, and the girls at the VA Clinic.     3. Irene Lessard Demers 1920 - 2004 LEWISTON - Irene L. Demers, 84, resident of Schooner Estates, Auburn passed away after a long illness on Saturday, Nov. 6, at d'Youville Pavilion. She was born on May 5, 1920, in Berlin, N.H., the daughter of Alphonse and Marie (Morin) Lessard. She graduated from Berlin High in 1939. She moved to Connecticut in 1951, retiring form AVCO Textron in 1983. She moved back to Maine in 1999. She was a member of D.A.V. Auxiliary, 4 Senior Club, AARP, life-member of Heartbeat, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She loved to line dance and play cards. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Arthur Demers, of Auburn. She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Ronald, three brothers, Leo, Roland, and Gerard, and a sister, Muriel.
