    3. Harold Francis Pomeroy POMEROY, Harold Francis Harold Francis Pomeroy, 90, of Rockhaven Drive, Glastonbury, died on Thursday, (November 11, 2004) at the Glastonbury Healthcare Center. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on December 25, 1913, he was the son of the late Edwin Sumner Pomeroy, Dalton, MA and Alice Mary (Lee) Pomeroy of Thomastown, County Kilkenney, Ireland. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1932 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, in 1936, where he also played basketball. He retired from Northeast Utilities in December 1978 after 42 years of service (of which 30 years were spent as General Superintendent of Transmission and Distribution in the Western Massachusetts Electric Company) and the remaining 12 years on the Northeast Utilities Service Company staff. After retirement he worked as a Senior Operations Engineer for Charles T. Main, Incorporated, Boston, MA. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical, Electronic Engineers and a member of the Edison Electric Institute. He was also a member of St. Paul's Church and Men's club. Additionally, he was an avid golfer and a former member of the Timberline Golf Club and Men's Club and the Portland Senior's Men's Club. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, a fun-loving and caring father and the best grandfather "Bumpa" any grandchild could ask for. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Delores (Murray) Pomeroy. They celebrated 68 years of marriage with their family on October 24, 2004. He is also survived by a son, Lloyd Warren Pomeroy of Falls Church, VA; and a daughter Susan Jane (Pomeroy) Lennox of Enfield; and two much loved grandchildren, Tara Allison Lennox and Brent Jeremy Lennox. (Keegan) Desjardins, entered into eternal rest on Thursday (November 11, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Marcel and Georgiana Desjardins, he had resided in East Hartford since 1968. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the owner and operator of Desjardins Hardwood Floors, East Hartford for over the past 40 years, as he refinished and resurfaced hardwood floors in the area. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Donat was an avid golfer who enjoyed golfing with his nephews at different courses. Besides his beloved wife of 52 years, Mr. Desjardins is survived by a son, Donald J. Desjardins of Rocky Hill; three daughters, Marlene Desjardins of East Hartford, Jeannine T. Christensen and her husband, Scott, of Hebron, Charmaine M. Desjardins of East Hartford; a sister, Rachael St. Jean of Van Buren, ME; two adored granddaughters, Lindsay Christensen and Brittany Christensen both of Hebron; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Thomas Goodrow of St. Simons Island, GA and Chatham, MA.; a grandson, David Goodrow of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a sister, Madeleine Cadoret of Windsor and a sister-in-law, Isabelle Benson of West Hartford; three nephews, Stephen Benson, John Cadoret and Joseph Musler; two nieces, Ann Crouse, Dr. Diane Cadoret; three great nieces and a great nephew. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Marblehead. He worked 35 years for Finest Stores as a meat cutter. He was a member of the United & Comm. Workers Intl.     3. Ernest C. Cormia November 13, 2004 FOREST DALE - Ernest Clarence Cormia, 72, died Nov. 11, 2004, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Middlebury, the son of George and Martha (Clark) Cormia. He attended Middlebury High School. Mr. Cormia was a taxi driver in Albany, N.Y., for many years, and later became a chef and cooked at various restaurants in the Albany and Rensselaer, N.Y., area. He returned to Vermont in 1986 and worked as a chef at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Rutland and later at Smoke Rise Restaurant in Brandon for 13 years, retiring in 2000. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Helen Broadhurst of Forest Dale; seven sons, Joseph Cormia Sr. and Shawn Cormia, both of Forest Dale, Ernest Cormia Jr. and Michael Cormia, both of Rutland, John Cormia of Shrewsbury, Paul Cormia of Brandon and William Cormia of Pittsford; two daughters, Sally Cormia of Florida and Robin Clark of Rutland; 33 grandchildren; and several cousins. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Albert Baltz, pastor, will officiate. A private burial will take place at a later date. Roger was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and was an active member of the United States L.S.T. Association. He was also an active member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus Council 3525. Roger retired from Harris Graphics after 48 years of dedicated service. He occupied his time golfing with family, socializing with friends playing pinochle and working on hobbies that included woodworking crafts that he made for his family and also donated to charitable events in the community. Roger served as an active member of the local volunteer fire department for 20 years. As the patriarch of a family of seven children, 13 grandchildren and five great - grandchildren, the most cherished times of his life were spent at family gatherings. Roger is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Ruby; three daughters, Nancy O'Toole of Pennsylvania, Karen McMillan and her husband Steven of Champlain and Laura Trahan and her husband Michael of Rouses Point; four sons, Bryan and his wife Marian of Hamburg, N.Y., Robert of Champlain, Allen and his wife Debra of Rouses Point and Mark and his wife Jean of Altona; 13 grandchildren, Chantelle O'Toole, USAF Captain Adam Pugh, Shannon Downs, Chad McMillan, Holly Sega, Jill Tetreault, Tricia Guay, Jennifer Tetreault, Charlene DeCoste, Ryan and Jarid Tetreault and Bradley and Brittany Trahan; and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Kyler, Hannah, Karissa and Taylor. She was a cafeteria cook for the City of Haverhill School Department at both Hunking School, where she was the head of the cafeteria program, and Haverhill High School from 1974 to 1995. She also worked in the cafeterias at Consentino School and St. Joseph Grammar School. Born in Montreal, Canada, Mrs. Lessard attended school in Canada and also attended St. Joseph Grammar School in Haverhill. She was a member of All Saints Parish and its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society and the former St. Joseph Parish, where she worked for many years as the rectory cook. She leaves her husband of 61 years Robert J. She was born in Norwich on September 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Henrietta C. (Hall) Buell. She was married to George G. Merrell on August 17, 1944 at the First Congregational Church of Hampton, he survives her. Mrs. Merrell graduated from Plainfield High School in 1940 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Connecticut in 1944. She was coowner of Westview Orchards in Plainfield and also coowner of Browning Stand and The White Face Inn in Lisbon. She was a life member of the First Congregational Church in Plainfield, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the O.J.S. She was a descendant of Governor William Bradford, Plymouth Plantation, Plymouth, MA She was a member of the Windham County 4H Association, 4H Club, where she was a 4H leader, a member of the Brooklyn Fair Association, a member of the Deborah Avery Putnam Chapter of the D.A.R. in Plainfield, Windham County Farm Bureau, 50 year member of the Plainfield Grange #140, Plainfield Home Economics Club and the Rebeccah Lodge in Central Village. She was employed at Osborne and Cheesman Co. and Hershey Metal Co. A lifelong New Yankee fan having attended many games with her family. Survived by a niece and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Anne Simpson; and one brother, J. Leo Cote. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, at 9:15 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N.     3. Ronald F. Bouchard, 54, of Uxbridge Saturday, November 13, 2004 UXBRIDGE -- Ronald F. Bouchard, 54, of Uxbridge, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, after being stricken ill. He was the husband of Linda M. (Tenaglia) Bouchard for 24 years. Born in Milford, he was the son of Ernest J.A. and Frances M. (Wojnowski) Bouchard and grew up in Mendon. He lived in Uxbridge for the past 20 years. He was a 1969 graduate of Nipmuc High School. Mr. Bouchard was a U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran. In the Navy, he served as a radioman 3rd Class in Morocco aboard the USS Wasp and USS Voge. Mr. Bouchard worked in maintenance at the Taft School in Uxbridge for the past year. He previously worked in the receiving department at Baystate Abrasives in Westborough for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was active with the Uxbridge Little League, the Tri-Valley League and Lassie League. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Daniel S. Bouchard of Uxbridge; a daughter, Karen E. Quinn of Uxbridge; a brother, Paul E. Bouchard of Mendon; three sisters, Vicki D. Connors of Uxbridge, Frances M. Bishop of Surfside, S.C., and Bonnie J. Davidson of Upton; and several nephews and nieces. A memorial funeral service will take place at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, at a date and time to be announced. Fils de feu Édouard Lessard et de feu Émeline Bilodeau, le troisième d’une famille de onze enfants. Il laisse dans le deuil son frère, ses soeurs, ses belles-sœurs et ses beaux-frères: feu Léger (Annette Fecteau), Lorette (feu Bernard Poulin), Hélène (oblate), Henri (Claudette Cormier), Gilberte (Marc Bélanger), Simone (Jacques Cloutier); il était également le frère de feu Pauline, feu Bertrand, feu Gilbert, feu Simon; il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses confrères rédemptoristes et plusieurs oncles, tantes, neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et amis(e)s. Après ses années de Juvénat chez les Rédemptoristes, à Ste-Anne de Beaupré, il entre au Noviciat en août 1949. Il fait profession le 15 août 1950, poursuit ses études de philosophie et de théologie au Scolasticat d’Aylmer. Il est ordonné prêtre le 23 juin 1957 par Mgr Louis-Philippe Lussier, c.ss.r. Deux ans plus tard, soit en 1959, le P. Lessard prend la route du Japon. C’est là qu’il exercera son ministère toute sa vie, comme vicaire, curé, supérieur dans nos différentes communautés. S’adaptant parfaitement à la culture japonaise, le Père Noël-Auguste a toujours été un témoin enflammé, rayonnant de joie, s’oubliant totalement lui-même pour le service de la MISSION. Et c’est à l’âge de 75 ans, après quelques années de maladie, que sa mission s’est terminée alors qu’il était en service en la paroisse de Fukuchiyama et appartenait à la communauté de Maizuru. Il a été inhumé au Japon, mais une Eucharistie d’action de grâces sera célébrée en la Basilique de Ste-Anne de Beaupré, le samedi 7 février 2004, à 10h en présence de la Communauté des rédemptoristes. Parents et amis (es) sont cordialement invités.

Ordonné prêtre le 16 juin 1957, le défunt était retiré depuis juin 1997 à la Résidence Ignace-Bourget de Montréal. Le ministère de l’abbé Léger fut dans différentes paroissses de Montréal: paroisses Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus, Saint-Anselme, Très Saint-Nom-de-Jésus, Sainte-Catherine-Labouré, Saint-François-Solano, Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire et Saint-Mathieu. Il fut également Chapelain des Petites Filles de Saint-François. Il laisse dans le deuil ses parents et amis. Exposé le lundi 19 janvier, à 10 heures, en l’église La Visitation de la B.V.M., 1847 boul. Gouin est Montréal. Le service religieux suivra à 10 h 30.
