11/14/2004MARY GIROUX RANDOLPH - Mary Giroux, 67, died early Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in the Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born in Rutland, Sept. 21, 1937, the daughter of John D. and Kathryn (Ryan) Foley. She was educated in Fair Haven schools, graduating from high school in 1955. She graduated from nurse's training at the Gifford Memorial Hospital in 1958. Mary was an RN at the Gifford Medical Center for 40 years. She retired as charge nurse in 2001. She was a member of the Sts. Donation and Rogatian Catholic Church in Randolph, and a past member of the Catholic Daughters, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, reading, and her family. She married Norman Giroux on June 30, 1962, in Fair Haven. He is deceased. She leaves a daughter, Patricia Giroux of Randolph, three sons, Edward Giroux and his companion Ann, James Giroux and his wife Marjorie, and David Giroux and his wife Dawn; two brothers, James Foley and his wife Frances, and John F. "Jack" Foley and his wife Joan of South Burlington; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Sts. Donation and Rogatian Catholic Church with the Rev. John Milanese officiating. Calling hours will be in the Day Funeral Home, Monday, Nov. 15, from 2 to 3 and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Randolph. 11/14/2004BERNARD EMERICK DUPRAT SWANTON, Vermont - Bernard Emerick Duprat, 79, a longtime resident of Swanton Village died Wednesday evening, November 10, 2004, in the Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans City surrounded by his loving family. Born in Colchester on September 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Emerick and Augusta (Patneaude) Duprat. He graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Burlington with the Class of 1943 and in 1950 from Saint Michael's College with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. On July 11, 1959, he married the former Sybil Tatro who predeceased him, October 7, 1998. A member of the Local Carpenters Union 534 Bernard worked most of his life on large construction projects in the Burlington area as well as throughout Northwestern Vermont. A devoted parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary he formerly belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Saint Edmund of Canterbury Council 7669 and was a member of the HiSwans Senior Citizens. Bernard faithfully served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force and received five Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 778 both in Saint Albans. Bernard was full of life with a strong personality that remained until his very last day. He leaves his daughter, Ann Wells and her husband Robert of Fairfield; two sisters, Miss Lucille Duprat of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Thomas (Theresa) McCormick of Winooski as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Sybil, Bernard was predeceased by a brother George Duprat. 11/14/2004THOMAS LEE BOURDEAU JERICHO - Thomas Lee Bourdeau, 64, died peacefully after a long illness Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at his home in Jericho. He was born in Winooski, Aug. 1, 1940, son of the late Elmer and Clarissa (Savard) Bourdeau. Lee was married on Oct. 12, 1963, to Loraine Deavitt in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. He was employed at IBM for over 28 years. After retiring he worked as a travel agent at Camp Johnson in Colchester. Lee was a devoted family man and fun-loving person. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting, card games and sitting around the campfire. He also loved taking trips to Florida to see his close friends. Most of all, he liked spending time with his family and being a person to count on to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Loraine Bourdeau of Jericho; his three children and their spouses, Kirk Bourdeau and his wife Suzette of Richmond, Kim Bosley and her husband Bruce of Essex, Christopher Bourdeau and his wife Kele of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Benjamin, Cassandra, Arthor, Jonathon, Eva and Nicholas; one brother, Richard Bourdeau and his companion Cecile Campion of Winooski; a brother-in-law, Ed Jurkiewicz of Williston; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many close friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Gerald Bourdeau; and by three sisters, Claire Jurkiewicz, Anita O'Brien and Ann Vasseur. She attended Burlington schools, and was married to Lee Paquette on June 16, 1956, in St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winooski. Marlene worked as a house keeper for many years and later was employed with the Zackary's family. She was a dedicated mother who loved being at home with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and going to garage sales, and was an avid horseshoe player. Après ses études classiques au Petit Séminaire de Chicoutimi (1922-1929) et ses études théologiques au Grand Séminaire du même endroit (1929-1934), Mgr Dufour a été ordonné prêtre le 4 février 1934 en léglise Saint-Edouard de Port-Alfred. Prêtre auxiliaire au Petit Séminaire de Chicoutimi (1934-1952; 1954-1957), il a accepté de nombreuses tâches et en devint le Supérieur de 1954 à 1956. Il a été intégré à léquipe des prêtres du Grand Séminaire de 1952 à 1954 et de 1957 à 1961. Il fut alors professeur, directeur spirituel et Supérieur de 1952 à 1954 et de 1958 à 1961. En 1961, il est appelé à lÉvêché où il exerça différentes fonctions auprès des prêtres et des communautés religieuses comme auprès du Chapitre de la Cathédrale. Il aida spécialement à la chancellerie et enfin au Tribunal ecclésiastique comme Avocat puis Juge et Official. Malgré toutes ses responsabilités, il fut aussi vicaire dominical à Saint-Alexis de Grande-Baie (1947-1950), à Saint-Paul de Chicoutimi (1964-1967) et à Ste-Cécile de Kénogami (1969-1972). Le 1er février 1983, il prenait sa retraite et quittait lÉvêché pour élire domicile à la Résidence Mgr-Paré, chez les Soeurs Antoniennes de Marie où il vient de décéder en ce 11 novembre 2004. He was a 1969 graduate of Nipmuc High School. Mr. Bouchard was a U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran. In the Navy, he served as a radioman 3rd Class in Morocco aboard the USS Wasp and USS Voge. Mr. Bouchard worked in maintenance at the Taft School in Uxbridge for the past year. He previously worked in the receiving department at Baystate Abrasives in Westborough for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was active with the Uxbridge Little League, the Tri-Valley League and Lassie League. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Daniel S. She was in the 71st year of religious life. She was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste and Emma (Carmel) Chauvin of Webster, MA. She completed her elementary education in that city, but obtained her high school diploma from St. Anne Academy, Marlborough, MA. She earned a B.A. and an M.A. degree from the University of Montreal, Quebec; and a PhD. degree in English Literature from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. She entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, Quebec, and in 1933 pronounced her religous vows. She taught for eleven years in Montreal schools staffed by the Congregation before returning to the United States. In 1948, she joined the faculty of Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA, as professor of English literature. Over the years, she became Chairperson of the English Department, Dean of Students, and Registrar, respectively. Sister is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be waked at St. Anne Convent, 720 Boston Post Road, Marlborough, on Wednesday, November 10 from 2 to 4 and 6-8 p.m with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 10, at 10 a.m in the Convent chapel, with burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Marlborough. Mrs. Hughes had been a winder at the former Handy Mill, in Manville, for many years before retiring in 1970. She attended St. James Church and was a member of its Union of Prayer. She was a former member of the Golden Agers of Manville and Albion. Plouffe Real Estate Agency, retiring in 1984. She was a past secretary for the Woonsocket Board of Realtors. She was an award-winning artist working in oils and participating in local art shows. Mrs. Plouffe was a communicant of St. Mark Church. She was a member of Our Lady of Queen of Martyrs, Scared Heart Senior Citizens and the former Woonsocket Hospital Guild. Mrs. Plouffe was a graduate of the former St. Clare Academy, and Bryant College, Class of 1933. She loved to listen to her husband play the violin, and to travel. She leaves a son, Richard O. MATHILDA LARIVIERE - Burrillville 01:00 AM EST on Saturday, November 13, 2004 MATHILDA LARIVIERE, 88, of Maplewood Drive, Mapleville, a retired jewelry worker, died yesterday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Donat Lariviere. Born on Jan 9, 1916, in St. Damien De Brando, Province of Quebec, a daughter of the late Hildege and Alexandrina (Lavallee) Goulet, she had previously been a longtime resident of Manville. Mrs. Lariviere was a line worker for area jewelry companies, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of St. James Church, Manville. She leaves a son, Lucien D. Lariviere of Mapleville, with whom she lived; a brother, Lucien Goulet of Woonsocket; two sisters, Cecile Cournoyer of Woonsocket and Rita Goulet of Montreal, Canada; and four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was the sister of the late Leo, Hector and Paul Goulet, and Arline Carrier. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Menard's Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will be private.

Anne R. Young Anne R. Young SPRINGFIELD - Anne R. (LeNoir) Young of Springfield, died Friday at Country Estates of Agawam. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield, and daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Juppe) LeNoir. Anne was a graduate of Westfield State College with a Bachelor degree in Education. She worked as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for J.O. Young Company. She was a longtime member of Bethany Assembly of God Church. Anne was pre-deceased by her husband, Elmo L. Young and her son, Bruce Young, both in 1956, and a brother, John T. LeNoir and sister, Esther E. LeNoir. She is survived by a brother, Edward P. LeNoir of Exton, PA, and several nieces and nephews, including Irene Hendrickson of Newington, CT. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 10-11am in the Byron Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield, to be followed by a funeral service Monday 11am with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Anthony R. Mongeau Anthony R. Mongeau 1961 - 2004 PALMER - Anthony R. Mongeau, 43, of 150 Three Rivers Rd., died Wednesday in Wing Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He leaves his parents, Raymond and Jean (Wozniak) Mongeau of Ware; his sisters, and their husbands: Kathleen and Frank Neffinger, and Marcia and Joseph Vadnais; and his companion, Valerie Young of Monson; his nieces, Brittany, Alexis, Julianna, and Grace; and his nephew, Collin. He was born in Ware and was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Ware High School, and attended STCC. He was employed by Big Y World Class Markets for 26 years. Funeral Services will be held on Monday from the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., with a mass at 10 am in St. Mary's Church, South St., both in Ware. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 pm. Joan Miranda Joan Miranda, had active church life ROCHESTER - Joan E. (Carr) Miranda, 72, of 1 Mandela Drive died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home following a period of failing health. She was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Exeter, N.H., the daughter of the late J. George and Pauline (Hughes) St. Laurent. She was a member of Newmarket High School's Class of 1950. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Rochester and also a member of the altar and rosary of St. Joseph's Church in Dover. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Members of her family include her husband of 27 years, Santiago "Jim" Miranda of Rochester; her children, Sandi Carr of Rochester, Paula Slaughter of Rochester, Orrison W. Carr III and his wife Maureen of Saugus, Mass., Michele M. Houle and her husband Michael of Rochester, and Scott J. Carr and his wife Vicki of Middleton; her grandchildren, Mark A. Carr, Orrison W. Carr IV, Kaylan Carr, Kelli Carr, Seton Slaughter, Jenn Houle, Mary Houle, Michele R. Houle, Travis Houle, Patrick Carr and Zachary Carr. She also leaves a sister, Theresa Taylor of Dover, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Orrison W.
