Her husband, Victor A. Fortier, died in 1973. She leaves a son, Roger A. Fortier of Mount Pellier, Va.; a daughter, Norma M. Olson of Putnam, Conn.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Another son, Joseph L. LaClerc, died in 1985. She was born in Altona, N.Y., daughter of Fred and Marceline (Peltier) Lamontagne, and lived in Sturbridge many years. Mrs. Fortier was a hostess at Old Sturbridge Village before her retirement several years ago. The funeral will be Friday from Daniel T. Fortier, age 84, son of the late Dr. Edward and Viola (Payton) Fortier passed away November 17, 2000, in Fairbanks, Alaska. A memorial service was hels at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish in Anchorage, Alaska, on November 27. Edward was born in Little Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from Little Falls High School and the University of Minnesota School of Journalism. He was inducted into the U. S. Army in 1942 and served in the Army Counter-Intelligence Corps in Alaska until his discharge. He was editor of the Alaskan Sportsman magazine for 10 years and was the Alaskan correspondent for the National Observer. He contributed articles to the Minnesota Volunteer. In non-journalistic pursuits, Edward served for a period as director of Alaskan Territorial Civil Defense, administrator of the Anchorage Providence Hospital, and as a member of the first Alaskan Big Game Guide Board. Survivors include two grandsons, Henry Tiffany IV and wife Clover, and Edwin F. Tiffany; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; daughter. Diane; and two brothers, Dr. Rene' Fortier and David Fortier.

ALTONA — Beatrice M. Rabideau, 87, of Alder Bend Road, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Altona on Nov. 11, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Leah (Recore) Therrian. Beatrice had worked at the Clinton County Nursing Home, the Cumberland Hotel and later for Auxiliary Service for Plattsburgh State University College. Beatrice enjoyed playing the game Aggravation and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Rockside Senior Citizens and Holy Angels Church in Altona. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Leah Therrian; her husband, John Rabideau; and 17 siblings. George Pershing Lalonde Born May 12, 1938 Died December 17, 2006 George Pershing Lalonde, beloved husband of Elaine Lalonde of Calgary passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the age of 68 years. George was born on May 12, 1938 in Montreal, QC. He attained his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and became a Chartered Accountant. George moved to Calgary in 1969 where he was employed in his field with Texaco Canada for twenty-one years. George moved to Imperial Oil during the Imperial Oil and Texaco Canada merger and retired from Imperial Oil in 1992. Following this he served in public practice for sixteen years. He was also a long-standing member of the Petroleum Club. George's biggest passion was family and in his eyes the grandchildren could do no wrong. He also loved golf and Sunday football. He will be remembered as a man who was always happy, generous, kind, fun-loving, organized, and responsible - someone you looked up to. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life to its fullest. Everyone who knew him respected him deeply. George showed a lot of courage in the face of adversity, especially in dealing with his health issues. He refused to allow them to dominate his life. Besides his loving wife Elaine, George is survived by three children, Sherry and her husband Mark Leslie, George, and John and his wife Velinda as well as two step-children, Nancy and her husband Neil Grinwis and Derek and his wife Jacqueline Lutz. Peter Boulet Peter Phillip Boulet of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the age of 73 years. Peter was born September 18, 1933 in Dunrea, Manitoba. He was a pipe fitter by trade and worked for many years for Pillar Construction as a field superintendent throughout western Canada. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved coaching his boy's hockey and baseball teams and was sports director at Vista Heights Community for many years. Peter was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humour and his love for tinkering in his garage. Peter will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all.
