    2. Jacques Trempe

Liliane, while living and working in Summerstown, met Leon Quig and they married in 1976, eventually moving back to Cornwall. They shared 25 years together until Leon passed away in 2001. She was stepmother to Gary Quig (Jeannie) of Sudbury. She became a good friend and loving caregiver to her sister-in-law the late Oli! ve McMillan of Cornwall. Before she retired she worked in housekeeping at the Cornwall Hotel Dieu Hospital. In retirement she took up bowling and was very good at it. Her absence will certainly negatively impact her teams average. Liliane was predeceased by her parents, David and Genevieve (Tremblay) Hamilton, her brothers Bert, Gerry, John, Paul-Emile and Donald. She is survived by her four sisters, Aldea Dow (Ottawa), Anita Pellerin, Marie-Claire Bourbonnais and Lucienne Bourdon all of Montreal. She was the affectionate grandmother of Stephane and Kristian Marleau (Ottawa), Valerie Hunter and Denis Bergeron (South Carolina), Lynn Lefebvre (Williamstown), Robert Quig (Toronto) and Paula Quig (Vars). She pampered her great grandchildren: Liam Hunter (South Carolina), Alexandre and Nathaniel Marleau (Ottawa) and Alyssa Guy (Vars). Liliane had a brief and difficult encounter with cancer. Her inner strength, good humor and her unwavering faith in God saw her through her strugg! le. She could not have received better care than that provided by the guardian angels of the 5th floor east at the Ottawa General Campus. The Marleau, and Quig families extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff and medical team that looked after Liliane in her time of need. They comforted her with the utmost respect for her pride and dignity. Friends and family may call at the Lahaie Sullivan funeral home at 614 First Street in Cornwall on Thursday January 4, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The church service will be held at the Nativity Co-Cathedral on Friday January 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. A celebration of Liliane's life will follow at the Cornwall Legion on 2nd Street at 12:15 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation at www.ohfoundation.ca . All who knew Liliane will sadly miss her gentle character and her kindheartedness. An ordinary woman with an extraordinary spirit. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 1/2/2007 - 1/3/2007.
