Hello, I thought I would try again to see if anyone could help with my brick wall. I am looking for info on or about Alfred N.Turgeon. born in Quebec Canada July 10,1845.(or close) He came to the USA around 1867-68 to Clarion Pennsylvania. Declaration of intent to become a citizen in 1872, and naturalized in 1874.He is on the 1870 census for Clarion Pennsylvania, listed as a Barber. He married (we think twice) and remained in PA where he died in Butler PA June 12, 1917. His obit stated he had a sister living in Canada. I have no information on his parents or siblings. I do have all his children's info. What I need is to find out how to find out who his parents were and or where he was born in Quebec. I have his death certificate which does not list his parents. Is there any information for 1845 -through-1860-70? such as directories? or census for Canada, or ???? I have been unable to find out how to locate birth records as they are kept in local parishes and I wouldn't know where to look. Any help would be appreciated _Nae80Queen@aol.com_ (mailto:Nae80Queen@aol.com) Renee ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Lamothe gave the Old Testament scripture reading from the book of Lamentations, and the New Testament scripture reading from Philippians. The Gospel reading was from the Book of St. John. Rev. Lamothe led in the reciting of the prayers of the people followed by his homily where he gave testimony to Mrs. Ling as a faithful and devoted wife who was dedicated to her family. Mrs. Ling was remembered as a woman who conveyed God's good news through her lifelong walk of faith. As the altar was being prepared for Holy Communion, Mrs. Major played presentation hymn, "Here I am Lord." The communion hymn was "Panis Angelicus." The offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Mrs. Ling's son, Leo, and his wife Yollanda. Following communion, Rev. Lamothe led in the reciting of the Lord's Prayer and then gave the final commendation and incensing of the casket. The Mass concluded with the recessional hymn, "The King of Love." Burial followed in the Ling family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery where Rev. Lamothe offered committal prayers. She was laid to rest next to her late husband John Ling. Serving as pallbearers were John Steele, Raul Steele, and Steve Ling, all grandsons, Joshua Ling and Adam Ling, both great-grandsons, and Edward Briggs, a great grandson-in-law. A reception followed the committal services held in the St. Joseph's Church fellowship hall. Attending the visiting hours and services were delegations representing Vernon Advent Christian Home, and friends and neighbors from Brattleboro and Hinsdale, and immediate family members from Quebec, Canada. (Gauthier) Pelland, 99, a lifelong Williman-sett resident, passed on to her heavenly home on August 5, 2007. She is predeceas-ed by her husband, area businessman Edward R. Pelland Sr., who died on May 28, 1990. The daughter of the late Anna (LaBrecque) Gauthier and Donat Gauthier, Dorilla was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Chappell and Annette Gagne, and her brother Arthur Gauthier. Her youngest sister, age 95, Yvette DeRoy, is a resident of North Carolina. On June 20, 1929, she married Edward ("Ed") Pelland. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1979. Dorilla was a devoted wife and mother, and the joy of her life at the family home on Chicopee Street was her six children. Her education ended after grade eight, as was common at that time, but she always knew the value of higher education and passed that ideal on to her three sons and three daughters. She taught her children the practice and beautiful traditions of the Catholic faith, the love of their French lineage, the value of education, and the joy of an excellent work ethic. Evidently, Dorilla's instruction to her children worked in their lives, since her sons and daughters became successful businessmen and educators. She is survived by her six children: Edward Pelland Jr., of Chicopee and his wife Shirley (Cramer) Pelland and their children, Cheryl Pelland-Lak and her husband Robert; Edward Pelland and his wife Jacqueline; Kimberly Pelland and her husband Kenneth Galendo, and John Pelland. Her daughter, Diane (Pelland) and her husband Richard Wright, of Springfield, MA, and their children, Scott and Jeffrey Wright. Her son, Peter Pelland and his wife, Barbara (Gove), of Haydenville, MA, and their children, Joshua and Jonathan Pelland. Dorilla leaves 27 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson, who affectionately call her "Mem." She also leaves many nieces and nephews. For nearly 30 years, she started each day attending morning Mass, preceded by the recitation of the Rosary, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, her home parish for most of her life. Her daily Mass friends and celebrating priests became her dear spiritual family. Dorilla will be sorely missed but lovingly remembered by her family and those close enough to be called her friends.
