THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA. 20 August 2007 Judith (Loiselle) Freeman 1943 - 2007 WESTFIELD, MASS. - Judith (Loiselle) Freeman, 63, of Franklin Street, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 18, 2007. She was born on September 19, 1943 in Springfield where she lived the majority of her life before moving to Westfield in 2006. Judy was a lovely person who knew her own mind and spoke it often. She always had a smile for you and loved a good joke. She especially enjoyed the outdoors in the spring and summer when the flowers were all in bloom and the sun shining. Judith thoroughly enjoyed sweets, shopping trips, evenings out with friends and movies. She was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army. Judith was supported by the staff of The Association for Community Living in a home in Westfield for the last year of her life. She will be sadly missed by her housemates and her support staff. The family would like to heart fully thank them for their support and love over the last year. She leaves a son, Donald Freeman, III of Springfield, whom was the center of her world, a brother, Allen "Ricky" Loiselle of Las Vegas, four sisters, Nancy Kabarsky of California, Ann Moore of Michigan, Donna Hutchinson of West Springfield, and Margaret Loiselle of Worcester. She was predeceased by a brother, Eugene "Buster" Loiselle and a sister, June Loiselle. The funeral will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, with burial at the convenience of the family. LaBrecque 1920 - 2007 SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - Elizabeth Ann (Brown) LaBrecque, 87, a former longtime resident of Milford St., Springfield, died on Saturday in the Birch Manor Nursing Home in Chicopee. She was born in Belchertown on July 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Dunlop) Brown. A seamstress by trade, Betty was at one time employed at the Wesson Women's Hospital and retired in 1987 after working in the Housekeeping Department at Mercy Medical Center for 15 years. A former member of the Liberty Methodist Church in Springfield, she was also associated with WAABI. Her husband, Eugene D. "Biddo" LaBrecque died on February 25, 1982. Betty is survived by 3 sons, E. Browning LaBrecque and his wife Fay of Ludlow, Douglas B. LaBrecque and his wife Lisa of West Springfield and Dennis R. LaBrecque of Springfield, a daughter, Donna J. Lancaster and her husband Larry of Aurora, CO, a brother, George Brown and a sister, Shirley Desroches, both of Belchertown. She also leaves her 8 grandchildren, Lori Lancaster, Sarai, Jonathan, Stephen and David LaBrecque, Desiree LaBrecque, Renee Letendre and Aimee LaBrecque. Besides her husband and parents, Betty was also predeceased by 3 brothers, Kenneth, Thomas and Albert Brown and 5 sisters, Glenrose Rollet, Madeline Obremski, June Bloomberg, Hazel Zitka and Edythe Owen. The funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 in the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Chicopee. She was born in Chicopee, the daughter of the late Homer and Evelyn (Brisson) Harnois. She was educated in the Holyoke Schools. Claire worked as a Nurses Aid at the Holyoke Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her former husband, Jean-Paul Plasse in 2003. Claire is survived by her daughters, Sandra Malo and her husband Roger of Chicopee, Paula Turconi of Chicopee, and Renee Slachetka and her husband Daniel of Palmer, also her four grandchildren, Roger, Jeffrey, Shannon, and Desiree, and her four great grandchildren. She was born in Hatfield, MA on May 22, 1924 a daughter of the late Ernest and Magaret (Waugh) Godin and graduated Cathedral High School in 1942. Marie was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield and was a volunteer of the Athletic Association of the Church. She took great pleasure in watching her grandsons during their many baseball and hockey games. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Albert F. Caputo on December 10, 1994; and also by her brother, Vincent Godin who died in 1993. She leaves her daughter, Marcia A. DeMaria and her husband Richard of Springfield; and her grandsons, Thomas DeMaria of Springfield and his fiancé Nicole Yannakopoulos of Lowell, MA, and Paul DeMaria of Springfield. Marie also leaves her many sisters in law and brothers in law; many nieces and nephews; her many friends including her best friend, Helen Sullivan of Wilbraham; and her companion, her grandson's Weimaraner, "Morgan".     3. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA 17 May 2007 Sally E. Carrington 1919-2007 GRANBY, MASS. - Solange (Plouffe) Carrington (AKA) Sally E. Carrington, formerly of East State St. died Tuesday May 15, 2007 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Plouffe and the late Marie Anne (McLean) Bonneau.She was also the stepdaughter of the late George Bonneau and the wife of the late Robert L. Carrington, who died in 1970. Mrs. Carrington was born in St. Cesaire Quebec, Canada and came to the United States at the age of four. In her early years, she attended school in Holyoke and was later a graduate of both South Hadley High School and Holyoke Community College. She was employed by the federal government for 47 years and retired in February of 2000 from the Information Office of the Westover Air Force Reserve Base. During her career, she also worked at the Springfield Armory and the U.S. Ordnance District in Springfield. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby and a member of the Catholic Women's Club. In addition, she taught CCD for many years and received the Pope Pius X Award for her dedicated service. For many years, she was treasurer of the Religious Education Board and a member of the Holyoke Deanery. Mrs. Carrington is survived by one son Richard J. Carrington and his wife Katherine of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, one daughter Patricia Anne Carrington Lewis and her husband Jim of South Hadley, two grandsons, James R.Lewis and his wife Carol of South Hadley, Keith L. Carrington and his wife Rebecca of Accident, Maryland, two grand-daughters, Karen Guiel and her husband Allen of Williamsburg, MA. And Liese Doherty and her husband Dan of Annapolis, MD. She also leaves behind three great grandsons, Zachary Lewis of South Hadley, Isaiah and Levi Carrington of Accident, Maryland, and five great granddaughters, Cecelia Lewis and Lauren Copeland of South Hadley, Sarah and Juila Guiel of Williamsburg, MA, and Bethany Carrington of Accident, Maryland. Also surviving her is her sister Priscilla Farrell and her husband Francis of Trinity, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Annette Lamoureux Thompson in 2005, and Lucille Plouffe. The funeral for Sally will be held on Saturday morning at 8:30 am from the Ryder Funeral Home in South Hadley followed by a Funeral Mass at 9: 30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Granby with her burial to follow in St. Rose Cemetery in South Hadley. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA. 14 May, 2007 Alphee Boudreau 1923 - 2007 SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - Alphee Boudreau, 83, a longtime resident of Springfield, passed away on Friday May 11, 2007 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 8, 1923 in Manchester, NH a son of the late Donat and Marie Jeanne (Compagna) Boudreault and was a graduate of Amesbury High School in Amesbury, MA. Alphee married his beautiful wife, Bernice Rose (Lavalley) Boudreau on October 28, 1945 in Amesbury, where they resided until September of 1953 before moving to Springfield. Alphee served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and attained the rank of Quartermaster First Class. He served aboard the USS Breeman and the USS Alger and received the American Area Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Alphee earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Northeastern University in Boston. Alphee retired in 1979 after 30 years as an auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. Upon retiring, he continued his career in the State Tax Office in Springfield and retired in 1987. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Springfield and enjoyed golfing. He also was an avid bridge player and a loyal Boston Red Sox fan. Alphee leaves his wife of 61 years, Bernice Rose (Lavalley) Boudreau; and his children, Robert A. Boudreau and his wife Barbara of Springfield, Phillip A. Boudreau and his wife Sharon of Ludlow, Barbara Jean Welch and her husband William of Springfield, and Beverly E. Iuliano and her husband Conrad of East Longmeadow. He also leaves his ten grandchildren and their families, Michelle Pawlowski, Jacqueline Kinsey, Carrie Stomppi, Paul Boudreau, Brian Boudreau, Sarah E. Welch, Jeffrey W. Welch, Carrissa M. Iuliano, Brianna R. Iuliano, and Anthony C. Iuliano. Alphee also leaves his nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Andrea Grace Boudreau on May 8, 1996; by a son, Paul Colby Boudreau on February 22, 1959; by his brother, Julien Boudreault; and by his sisters, Juliette Tufts, and Lorretta Garrett. She was born in Springfield on December 3, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Marshall P. and Mary M. (Morisi) Pasqualini. She graduated from the Springfield Trade High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was a crossing guard for the City of Springfield at the Liberty School and later worked at the Serv-U Store on Saint James Avenue in East Springfield for many years. She was last employed for 14 years as a toll collector at Interchange 6 in Springfield for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and retired in 1998. She was a communicant and longtime Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herman E. Pouliot who was Called Home on May 15, 1976, her loving son, David E. Pouliot who was Called Home on August 16, 2003 and her dear sisters, Norma Cavicchioli and Gloria Bowler. She leaves her loving sons, Allan J. Brookes and Gary P. Pouliot and his wife Barbara, all of Springfield. He was an electronic technician at GTE/Sylvania in Needham, Ma., working on both the Minuteman and Apollo Space projects for over 30 years. A love of traveling brought Richard and his wife to Europe and Africa. After retirement Richard and his wife Lillian became full time RV"ers, spending the winters in Texas and traveled throughout the U.S.A. over the last 20 years. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Korea as an NCO during the Korean War. He leaves his wife Lillian (McMennamin) Roberts of Appleton, Me; two sons, Steven and his wife Iris of Livermore, Me; and David and his wife Paula of Fitchburg, Ma. Two grandsons Benjamin Roberts of Fort Collins, Co., and Nicholas Roberts of Fitchburg, Ma. He was the husband of the late Nellie (Zagraniczny) Cote who died in 2002. He leaves his son William Cote of Ware. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis and George, and his sisters Rose Ann Gosselin and Melanise Rusiecki. He was born in Canada, son of William and Mary (Tolman) Cote and lived in Ware since 1921. He worked as a moulder for the Ware Foundry, and also served as sexton for the Trinity Episcopal Church and the United Church of Ware. He was a communicant of All Saints Church and Our Lady of Mt. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA 10 May 2007 Mary Claire Trask 1923 - 2007 AGAWAM, MASS. - Mary Claire (Tetreault) Trask, 84, of Agawam, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Heritage Hall-East Nursing Home in Agawam. She was born on March 4, 1923 in Springfield, MA, and was the daughter of the late Theodore O. and Gratia (Gamache) Tetreault. She was predeceased by her brothers: Roland Tetreault, Phillipe Tetreault, & Maurice Tetreault, and by her sister Paulette Tetreault O'Donovan. Mary is survived by her sisters-in-law Margaret Tetreault and Annie Tetreault. Her beloved husband Robert L. Trask predeceased her on March 19, 2007. Her life was devoted to the love of children. Over many years she devotedly cared for many foster children. Her work at the Agawam Flower Shop allowed her to continue her daily activity of engaging many with her pleasant smile. She leaves her beloved children Carol A. (Trask) Shuman, Robert B. Trask and his wife Donna L. Trask, and Joan C. Shuman and her husband Philip W. Shuman. She also leaves five grandchildren and their spouses: Wendy Lee Collins and her husband Daniel, Robert W. Trask and his wife Erin, Angela M. Grout and her husband, Gary, Christopher B. Shuman and his wife Kellye, and Philip J. Shuman and his wife Darcy Leigh. She was also blessed with and greatly loved her eight great-grandchildren: Cameron, Casey, Liam, Sienna, Michael, Abigail, Brandon and Maggie Katherine who will always love their Grand-Memere. She was born in Drummondville, Province of Quebec, Canada on September 25, 1945, a beloved daughter of the late Albert J. and Marie Berthe (Champagne) Roy. She lived on Chicopee Street in the Willimansett section of Chicopee for 27 years before moving to Belchertown in 1993. She was employed for 31 years at the former National Blank Book Company in Holyoke which later became the Avery Dennison Company and retired in 2004. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby and a former communicant of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett. She was a former member of the Springfield Women's Revolver Club. She leaves her beloved husband, Normand J. Turgeon. Her loving children, Sylvie Pendleton and her husband Glen of Stafford, VA, Suzanne Raines and her husband Mark of Lakeside, CA, Brenda Smith and her husband Stephen of Belchertown, Christine Cote and her husband James of Chicopee and Steven Drouin of Enfield, CT. Born Jan. 29, 1910, in Van Buren, he was the son of George and Laura (Soucy) Pelletier. Elmer married the late Yvette F. Pelletier in 1934; she died Feb. 23, 1996. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Guardian Angel Counsel 2399, St. Sebastian Church of Madison. He was a past Grand Knight. Elmer enjoyed bowling with his friends on Wednesday afternoons in Pittsfield and working around his house. He retired from Norrwock Shoe in Norridgewock in 1973. He is survived by one son, E. Thomas Pelletier and his wife, Dianne, of Skowhegan; two grandchildren, Sandra M. Cooper and her husband, Fred J. Cooper Jr., of St. Albans, and Paul T. Pelletier and his wife, Beth, of Industry; three great-grandchildren, William J. Dunlap and his companion, Maygan Hardison, of Madison, and Miles Pelletier and Marielle Pelletier, both of Industry; one sister, Dora Turgeon of Madison; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Alva, Edgar, and Agatha. Donations preferred to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to give a special thank you for all the care and companionship the staff and residents at Redington Memorial Home gave to Elmer over the past two years while he resided there. Mr. Poulin was born in Waterville, Maine, on Nov. 10, 1929, son of Joseph P. Poulin and Emelia Shank. He attended local schools and later enlisted in the Marine Corps, and honorably served his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars, where he was decorated with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired from the Marines in 1968. He worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad in Virginia as an administrator and retired in 1995. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Muriel Ernestine Poulin, for 51 years. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Adrian is survived by his loving wife, Muriel; four children, Pamela Woods and husband Randall, Robert Poulin, Cynthia Norstrom, and Christopher Poulin; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Gertrude Fields; and brother Alfred Freddie Poulin. He is also survived by three sisters, Sister Yvette Poulin of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Waterville, Theresa and Frederic Cote of Waterville, and Lucille Breton of North Vassalboro. Jean, 78, of Riverside Drive died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at her daughter's home, following a long illness, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Jean had been employed for many years at Taylor Shoe Co. and, more recently, for Kirschner Foods. She was a communicant of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Yvette's greatest love was her family. (Fournier) Fedora, 82, of Westfield, died peacefully at home Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Florence was always her family's biggest supporter whether it was a school functions or life in general. Florence was born in Holyoke on August 16, 1924 and moved early in life to Westfield. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Dubois) Fournier. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1939. She was a devout communicant of St. Peter and St. Casimir church, was a member of the Rosary Society, and for years enjoyed playing bingo at St. Peter's Parish Center. She was also a longtime Marion retreatant. Florence was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John E. "Red" Fedora in 2005. She is survived by six children, Carol J. Waite of Cape Coral, FL, Gail E. Fedora-Hines of Bonita Springs, FL, Marcia L. Fedora of Boca Raton, FL, Donald J. Fedora of Bonita Shores, FL, Susan M. Fedora of Tempe, AZ, Kevin J. Fedora of Westfield. Also a sister, Claire Thibodeau of Holyoke, one brother, Edward Fournier of Westfield, and a sister Eileen Gosselin of Willimansett. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II with Squadron G of the 3505th Army Air Force Base Unit and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was employed for 38 years and retired in 1985 as a Superintendent for the Continental Baking Company Wonder Bread in Holyoke. He was a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849, a member of the Willimansett Heights Improvement League and a member of the American Legion in Boston. Raymond had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves his beloved wife, Eileen M. (Bunting) Lebel. They were married at Saint Anne Church in Lawrence on May 3, 1947 and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. He also leaves his loving sons, Rick Lebel of New Britain, CT and Brian J. He was a communicant of St. Anne 's Church in Chicopee.Roland worked for the Philip Hano Co. for twenty-two years as a foreman and also worked at Hampden Paper. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, and Artistic Pacific Ribbon. Roland was a member of the Buffalo Athletic and Social Club and the Chicopee Elks. He also was an avid Red Sox fan. He was also a licensed private pilot and aerial photographer. He is survived by his wife of forty two years, Vera E. She was born in Holyoke on July 17, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph N. A. and Aldina (Masse) Lajoie. She was raised in Granby and graduated from South Hadley High School. She moved to Chicopee Falls in 1954 and in 1990, she moved to the Canterbury Arms Apartments. She previously worked for the Pall Blade Company in Holyoke during World War II and later worked at the former Forbes & Wallace Department Store on Memorial Drive in Chicopee and the former Ren Electronics and the TRW Electronics, both in the Fairview section of Chicopee. She last worked at the former Burger King Restaurant on Memorial Drive in Chicopee Falls before retiring in 1995. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was a longtime volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Chicopee. She knitted hundreds of hats each year for the underprivileged children and last year, she received their Presidential Award for her many years of service. Her beloved husband, Janvier W. "Doc" Lindsay, Jr. was Called Home on December 10, 1972. She leaves her loving sons, Janvier W. Lindsay, III and his wife Kimberly of Pittsfield and Donald J. After graduating, Paul worked at the Springfield News in the graphic arts department, then for Eastern Etching also in the graphics department as well as various other industries. Paul served in the US Army Air Corps Cadets during WWII. In 1957 he founded Industrial Etching, Inc. and later Northeast Screen Graphics. He leaves his wife Marion (Naples) Major; his son, Dan Major and his partner Anne Ouimette of Westfield; his daughter April Rimpo and her husband Chas of Dayton, MD; and his grandson Jeremy Rimpo also of Dayton. (Giroux) Barry 1929 - 2007 GRANBY, MASS. - Jeannette-Agnes (Giroux) Barry, age 78, passed away at home with her loving family at her side in Granby after an extended illness on August 6, 2007. She was born in Holyoke on July 18, 1929 daughter of the late Zenophile and Agnes Giroux. Jeannette was a graduate of South Hadley High School and was a beautician early on. Although having lived in Granby and South Hadley for many years, she and her husband, Neil and family, lived in Grand Island, NY; then Palm Harbor, FL for eleven years. Upon retirement, Jeannette and Neil, for the past eighteen years, lived at Mountain Lakes Resort in Helen, GA. They enjoyed many years of memberships at golf and country clubs on the east coast. Jeannette was a golf Club Champion for three consecutive years at Tarpon Lakes Country Club in Palm Harbor, FL. Her second hole in one was at her member guest tournament at Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, FL. Although golf was her favorite pastime, her first priority has always been to her husband and family of six children and twelve grandchildren. Jeannette assisted the elderly in Florida Nursing Homes as a Certified Nurses Aid for many years and, for the past ten years, managed a property rental business at Innsbruck Golf Resort in Helen, GA, where her husband worked in the Pro Shop for eighteen years. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Catholic Church there. Jeannette and Neil recently relocated to Granby, MA. Family was Jen's love, pride, and joy, leaving many memories of family camping trips and reunions. She was predeceased by her brother George Giroux.
