    1. [CAN-QC-OBITS] Looking for Obit: William Hawes
    2. Robert Hawes
    3. Greetings; Can someone do a look up on William Webster Hawes(se)? He is my great grandfather. Appreciate some help. William Hawes (se), aka William Webster Hawes. He lived most of his life and died in Hereford, QC. William (F. or W.) Hawes, born abt. 1840, possibly East Hately, PQ, Canada. Died 1 Feb. 1912. His parents were Franklin (Frank) Judith (Judy) Woodward of Hatley (Charleston), Quebec. William was listed: In the 1870 Orleans Co., Vermont Census as "William House" (positively identified by children’s names); In the 1891 Hereford, Compton Co., Quebec Census as William Webster Hawse; And in the 1901 Hereford, Compton Co., Quebec Census as Webster W. Hawse. Ref: Stanstead Journal: “Died 1 Feb. 1912, William Hawes, Hereford". (That was all it read). No obituary ever found. Only a note from family that two of his sons, Homer and Wright were witnesses. His 1st wife: Betsey P. Foster; (Troy, Vermont, USA). Second wife was Elzader Cathirin ((aka Alzada), born Brownington, VT or PQ, CA. Children: Ellsworth Burton (aka. Burt). Hawes (SE), b. 24 Sep, 1880; Wright A. Hawes, d. 30 Aug, 1955; Lucy Mary (Hawes) Saxlund. b. 1888; Homer M. Hawes, b 22 Oct 1882; Linford Hawes, b. 16 May 1896; Harry Delbert Hawes, b. 23 Oct, 1878. The family name is spelled both "Hawes" and or "Hawse". I have checked all known available listing to find where he was buried, but no luck. His second wife Elzader (aka Alzada) Margaret Catherine, Hawes buried in the “All Saints Anglican Cemetery” in Hereford, QC. (Hawes, Margaret E., b. 1855, d. 1919). Church record listed her as the wife of William Webster Hawes. Church records do not show where William was buried. Thank so very much for your help. Eternally grateful. Teresa G. Hawes Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines
