While tracing my Neild family, of Bowdon,England , I found a marriage to a Podmore and on tracing that back found this IGI entry: Emmily Podmore Christened:04 JAN 1835 Bowdon,Cheshire,England Mother:Sarah Podmore Birth:Dunham, Missisquoi, Quebec Bowdon in Cheshire is in the district of Dunham/Dunham Massey. It was, and still is, a small town on the outskirts of Manchester. There is a poor quality 1841 census entry that appears to show a George and Emma Podmore, both age 5, living in Bowdon with a family called Royle. They are both down as being born in Cheshire. In the mid 19th century there seem to be only 2 Podmore families living in the area, George's and the one I am tracing. Does anyone have any information about who these people might be? I have not connected Emmily or Sarah to my family in any way, other than the location, but am following it up out of interest Thanks Dave
