I am trying to find a connection to a family that lived in the same area by the last name of CARTY. My CARTY was Robert but there was a James CARTY that married a Margaret ARMSTRONG. James was killed by a tree falling on him on January 18, 1848. Margaret CARTY was enumerated in the 1851 census with her family next to a family with the name of ROSS. One of the ROSS children, Lucy Ann, married Robert CARTY in Missisiquoi, Canada in 1851. If any of this information rings a bell I sure would like to hear from you again.
