We have unverified references that his parents were Stephen Curtis born 1769 in Quebec and his mother Sarah Ensign. I have found an unverified reference to children born to Stephen Curtis and Sarah Ensign in Clarenceville, Missisquoi, Quebec, Canada. Can you recommend any sources that we could use or contact to help verify any of this information and find out more about Stephen Curtis? An additional request, do you know of sources for information related to the conditions in Canada in the 1830's that would have caused Stephen Curtis Jr to move to Michigan? Thank you for any information or guidance that you can provide. Steve and Danielle Curtis

    3. Hi, I have forwarded your email inquiry, to my family members who may recognize this name. If Clarenceville is in the Eastern Townships, which it sounds like. There is a group on face book called "People from the Eastern Townships in Quebec" . Maybe if you went on and found the Group in the listing and joined, you may get alot more information. I will let you know if my family has any recollection.
