    2. Just a note I have found many records for our area listed with other Notaries some of who filed papers in the registry office in Iberville for example I do not understand how they have located only one Notary working in Bedford and I am try to get in touch with them to find out why they do not have many more. After all most of us know that the registers office in Beford has most of the records we need. The best thing is to look at the listing of notaries and check out a few with the early dates who filed in the surrounding registry districts .... Montreal is a bit large but there are some of our area's records there also.... If I ever get lucky with obtaining a reply from the people who have put this site up I will hopefully be albe to let you know more

    3. I have to agree with that...Iberville notaries are among our best resources in the Missisquoi area. Problem is they have the indexes up...but no actual records. Hopefully, our time will come...   Pam --- On Sun, 1/4/09, langhouse@sympatico.ca <langhouse@sympatico.ca> wrote: From: langhouse@sympatico.ca <langhouse@sympatico.ca> Subject: Re: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Notary Archives for District of Bedford fortheyear 1870 To: can-qc-missisquoi@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, January 4, 2009, 7:40 PM Just a note I have found many records for our area listed with other Notaries some of who filed papers in the registry office in Iberville for example I do not understand how they have located only one Notary working in Bedford and I am try to get in touch with them to find out why they do not have many more. 1. [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Wasteland

    3. I am researching Missisquoi and Brome County for a family history writing project, and I don't understand why the word "Wasteland" was used to describe the area when it was first opened to settlement in the late 1700s. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks, Beverly Vorpahl
