    1. Re: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Conklin (re: Waggoner families)
    2. Hi Joan, Nice to hear from you. Sorry, I have no idea how Abraham and Jacob were related. My Conklin info is all mixed up. I'm out and about today, but when I get a chance I will go through my notes and see what I can come up with. There's one major problem with our Abraham Conklin and it's one that Allen Stratton noticed (I'm assuming you've seen his research?), there may have been an Abraham, Sr. and an Abraham, Jr. who were mixed up. I discovered that with my ancestor, John Waggoner of Dunham, son of Francis Waggoner. He was often mixed up with the John Waggoner of Highgate, VT. Anyway, here's the baptismal record for now. I'll get back to you with more soon. Happy New Year! You mention Lavina Conklin, daughter of Abraham, and I am wondering if you have further information about Abraham and his family. I hope you do, because your post shows you have researched families from Half Moon, where Abraham was from. The reason I am interested is that I am descended from Jacob Conklin, who was in Stanbridge Township in 1825, and whose birthdate I estimate at about 1765, but I don't know who his father was. Abraham seems a good possibility but I've never been able to find evidence of a connection between Abraham and Jacob. Searching for info on these two Missisquoi Loyalist families: 1) Francis Waggoner (from Half Moon, NY to Alburgh, VT) and 2) John Waggoner (from Saratoga, NY to Highgate, VT). Possible brothers. 1) Francis's eldest son, John, married Anna (born July 9, 1776, surname unknown). Anyone have an Anna born this time? Their first child was baptized in 1799 with Lavina Conklin, daughter of Abraham. John and Anna's family lived in Dunham till they left in 1818. John died enroute and Anna and kids settled in Lewiston, Niagara Co., NY. (One daughter married Whitford, brother of Abel & Elizabeth). Two other sons of Francis married Peltons and one married a "Polly" (born abt 1794). Francis's daughters married: Moore, Cook & Nelson, Sewall, Stoughton. 2) John Waggoner of Highgate had 3 daughters who married Asseltyne, Lampman, & Galer. Also would love to know the surname of his wife, Christiana, buried in Iberville 1827. Thanks, Nancy! ----- Original Message ----- From: cunningb@flash.net To: can-qc-missisquoi@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, December 31, 2009 7:03:27 AM GMT -08:00 US/Canada Pacific Subject: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Happy New Year!
