If your Benjamin Franklin Wood actually died 6 Aug 1890 (not 1891) at Rouses Point, NY, then his obit says he was "the son of Dr. Wood, a prominent physician at Alburg."   I looked in Stratton's "Unfinished" manuscript and that was Dr. James W. Wood who settled there in 1803. Son Benjamin Franklin Wood was b. 21 Nov 1811. Dr. Wood had married Mary Peterson 20 Jun 1807 at Alburg. The article does give further info, but no info on his parentage.  I can scan the page and send it to you if you would like.
