    3. Okay, the Galusha letters. I stumbled across them quite by accident. They are a collection of letters to and from the Galusha and Armstrong families, (from the mid to late 1800’s, though there are a few from earlier than that), who were related by the marriage of Aaron Leland Galusha to Sarah Armstrong. They were donated to the Lowell National Historical Park. People in the letters: Amy Galusha, also known as Nin, wrote a majority of the letters. She worked in mills in Lowell and in Vermont. Also her mother Polly Larabee Galusha, who was married to William Galusha. They lived in Berkshire, VT. Amy’s siblings: Helen Jane Galusha who married William Kendall. They moved to Wisconsin. Aaron L. Galusha “Lele or Leal” married Sarah Armstrong. Arvilla Galusha “Vill” who married George Drent. Mattia Galusha married Orrin Taft. William Galusha married Mattie. The Armstrongs that either wrote letters or are mentioned in them- Samuel Armstrong- he spent years in the Oregon territory and worked as a minor. Several of the letters are from him detailing Indian Wars and his time out west. George Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong and Sarah Ann Armstrong (Sarah Crellar), Sarah Booth, Marshall Armstrong. There are some letters to/from Lucretia Le Frary of Sutton. Also some letters written during the Civil War by a family friend.. There are tons of other people mentioned in the letters, in chats about day to day life. Some that I can think of: Leafy Stanhope, Elizabeth Carty, Robert Carty, Sarah Clark, someone named Plantina, Elin Whitney, William Booth, “Dorinda”, --- On Tue, 2/2/10, ShonHal@comcast.net <ShonHal@comcast.net> wrote: > From: ShonHal@comcast.net <ShonHal@comcast.net> > Subject: Re: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Roll Call:Armstrong, Crellar, Dhu/Dew, Hollenbeck, Dayton > To: can-qc-missisquoi@rootsweb.com > Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 10:04 AM > > > I am just curious - what are the Galusha Letters?
