Paula, I've found many of your Bridge's listed in my Frelighsburg Twp. Cemetery Book. Some are buried (including Freeman & Azubah) in the Bishop Stewart Memorial Anglican Church Cem. & more in the Methodist Church Cem. in Frelighsburg. Will send them along to you as soon as I find the time to type them all up. It was very common back in the 1800's for adult baptism's & often they would be done with their children or at a time when the adult or child was deathly sick. In this same time period legal age was 21years, so a person under that age would have bean considered a minor. Brenda Wilson Birch Frelighsburg, QC

Brenda, I hate to further impose on your generosity for look-ups, but as many of us would admit, genealogy can make one positively shameless! I would be very interested if there are any CASTLE headstones in your books. I have seen those that are listed in the Sutton cemetery book, so don't bother with that, but I hope a search in other areas might turn up some of the "problem people." Thank you. I just located baptismal records for Freeman Bridge (1806-1862) and several of his children, from 1850. He was an adult at the time and several of his children were teenagers, a couple were younger. I am wondering how unusual it would be for someone of that age to be baptized? It seems his wife Azuba was not among the baptized. While I am at it, I am looking for information on the parents of Freeman Bridge, who was married to Azuba Whitney (1818-1899) . Azuba's parents are Bartholomew Whitney and Sarah Safford. Again, any information would be helpful. I did find a marriage record for the Whitney - Safford wedding, again at Holy Trinity, noting Sarah to be a "minor". I am curious to know how old she was etc. Again, any assistance is appreciated. Hopefully I can return the favor some day!
Brenda, My Hammond line lived in Missiquoi, Caldwell Manor. Would you be able to look up Joshua P(Prime) Hammond (b. 1781 Swanzey NH). What I found is the following death notice. but cemetery unknown. "1848May28 Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection) 1621-1967 recorded death of Joshua P. Hammond: "On this thirtieth day of May Eighteen hundred and forty eight the body of Joshua P. Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 [database on-line" others known to have died there were Joshua's wife, Eliza Yale Hammond, b.1783 d.1857 Sanford B. Hammond, b. 1811 d.1813 Almira Sanford (Hammond) Dequois (sp?)b.1813 d. 1844, perhaps her husband Lewis Dequois, and William Hyde Hammond (b. 1805 d.1871) perhaps his wife Catherine. My actual line is through their fifth child, George H. Hammond b. 1818, who moved to Green, Maine sometime about 1841 as he and wife, Elizabeth were in the 1850 Green, Maine census. Hi, Could you see if there are any records of the name Podmore? I have George and Emma Podmore, both age 5, in the 1841 census for Bowdon, Dunham, England. There is also this from the IGI Emmily Podmore Chr:04 JAN 1835 Bowdon Mother:Sarah Podmore Bth:Dunham, Missisquoi, Quebec I am wondering if there might be a connection - perhaps the parents died in Canada and the children returned home. Presumably there is a connection somewhere between the 2 Dunhams. Jean Are you doing this for everybody??? Where is Cowansville from St Armand's?? I know that is a dumb question but I'm not real familiar with the area.? I am researching my ancestors that were in St Armand/Freighlesburgh.?I know that Franklin, VT and that area are close and back in the mid 1800's the residents weren't always? sure if they were in Canada or the United States.? I have some ancestors with the last name of ROSS and a possible CARTY last name also. Please let me know Joyce -----Original Message----- From: bhancock@westok.net To: can-qc-missisquoi@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, Jul 21, 2009 7:32 pm Subject: Re: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Cowansville Protestant Cemetery >Thanks anyway, appreciate it. Thank you Joan -----Original Message----- From: can-qc-missisquoi-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:can-qc-missisquoi-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of bhancock@westok.net Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 11:52 AM To: can-qc-missisquoi@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CAN-QC-MISSISQUOI] Cowansville Protestant Cemetery >Certainly, I know a little about her and not much is documented as she isn't in our family. I have her as the d/o John Tittemore (1790-1874) and Margaret Embury ( 1792-1861). John was the s/o George and Elizabeth (Burghart)Tittemore. Margaret Malvina was b. Sept 6, 1832 and died 29 Apr 1869 in Stanbridge Station,Qc. She is buried at Morgans Corner aka Mapledale Cemetery. 1851 census has her in St. Armand Qc at age 21 and single. 1861 census has her in St. Armand West, Qc at age 29, spinster and in her dad's household. I have nothing on Hiram except that he remarried in Apr 1875 and I don't know to whom. They had a daughter Jennie Eliza, b. 3 Jul 1867 and d. 15 Apr 1935. I am afraid that is all I have...hope it helps some. Barbara I would be very happy to know more about the Margaret M. Tittemore who > married Hiram Alonzo Fleming in St. Armand West on 18 Sep 1866.
