Irish Apple Cake 5 medium apples (Macintosh preferred) 1 egg 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup milk 1 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt Peel apples and cut up as for pie. Combine egg, sugar, butter to a creamy texture. Add milk and mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour half the batter into a well greased and floured cake tin. Add cut up apples and cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.... until top just begins to brown. Let cool in pan for 10-15 minutes. Turn upside down on serving plate.
