    3. Stories get pretty tongue- tangled within families when what passes for "truthiness" gets passed around among members and so it evidently was so in my Fowler family. I have found census information that indicates my "England born" Great Great Grandfather Fowler may very well have been Irish and my "born at sea coming to America from Scotland" Great Great Grandmother, may very well have been Irish, with both of them possibly in Ontario Province (unknown county) between 1840 and 1846. In the 1880 U.S. Census I have found Mary E. (Fowler) Kane, age 34, born 1846 in Canada, living in Buffalo, Erie, New York with her husband Patrick Kane. Also in their household was May Fowler, Mother in Law, widowed, age 54, bn 1826 in Ireland. The birthplace of Mary's father was said to also be Ireland. I know that places of birth and sometimes ages are incorrect on census records. But, in the 1870 census, also in Buffalo, Erie, New York, I find Mary with Patrick and an Alice Fowler, age 45, in their household. (born in Ireland). I have looked for many years for GGGrandfather Fowler, (Albert or George) bn abt 1821/25, and GGGrandmother Fowler (May or Alice) bn abt 1820/ 26 with no luck. Their son, my Great Grandfather Ezra Lonzo Fowler, was bn 1842 in Ohio, but his parents were not there on any census', and their daughter Mary E. Fowler, was bn in 1846 (I was told in Michigan) Now I find that there were not yearly census' in Ontario, only one in 1871, so I am out of luck for census records and Ontario is too far to go to research in libraries. Does anyone on the list have information on this Fowler family or any Fowler family in that area? It appears that GGGrandfather Fowler died before 1870. Sincerely, Darline Fowler Smith
