    1. Re: [Ontario Irish] 1851 Census Index Liverpool?Irish born
    2. Hello Tom, Thank you for your e-mail. During the course of my own research I have discovered that Irish people of all denominations usually went to Liverpool in the hope of finding work to enable them to save money for their passage to the new world. Some were successful and some were not. Some ended up living in Liverpool for the rest of their days. To this day the Liverpool accent is virtually pure Irish. I am very sorry but I do not have any tips for you to find 1810’s Liverpool protestant records. Except that you could try subscribing to the GenBrit Rootsweb list and ask for help on there. Although I live in England I am not very au fait with the genealogy records here. Sorry! The e-mail address for the list I suggested above is: GENBRIT-L@rootsweb.com All you do is to send an e-mail in the body of the message (not the subject line) say: SUBSCRIBE Do not put anything else in the message. Remove any 'signature' lines or the server may get confused. If you want to subscribe to any of the other lists, replace the GENBRIT-L in the address with the list name you wish to join. For example, to join the digest list, use the address GENBRIT-D-request@rootsweb.com. I was sorry to hear that the LDS have increased their charges. I have not been to one of their Centres for quite a while. I know how expensive it can be when looking for a needle in a haystack. If all else fails you might need to go back to the LDS, but I would try their web site first of all. The very best of luck with your research. Sorry I cannot be of more help to you at this time. Best Wishes. Jean McCarthy nee Moore. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jeanmccarthy36/
