Hello to All, Names I am researching: McCAFFREY, MEHARG, KELLY, HAVENS, VANNATTER I have John & Catherine McCAFFREYin Norfolk County, Ontario 1850s - 1880s. Both were born in Ireland (1851 Census) he about 1811, and she about 1826. Their son Dennis b. abt 1858 was my gr-grandfather; married Ida Ann KELLY. According to 1851 census, there was a son Edmond age 3. And according to John's will there were 4 other children probably born bet. 1848 and 1858: Margaret, Sarah Ellen, Gilbert, and Peter. When John died in 1874, Catherine was living with these four children at 16 Broad St, Port Dover, Norfolk Co while Dennis was with John on a 50-acre farm in Middleton Tp, Norfolk Co. By 1880 Sarah Ellen was in Biddulph Tp, Middlesex County by 1880; Margaret was in Simcoe, Norfolk County; Gilbert was with Dennis on the farm in Middleton Tp. I don't need any help with Dennis. My wish list: locate any descendants of those other children of John & Catherine McCaffrey. What was Catherine's maiden name? Where in Ireland did they come from, and when?
