    3. If anyone is interested in helping with the planning of the 2008 Settler's Day events honouring the Drummond Island families, we would be delighted and grateful for your assistance. Our next meeting of the planning group is scheduled for Saturday, October 20th, 2007 at the Museum at 10:00AM. All are welcome to attend. This is a loosely formed group of interested people who are willing to give a hand with this event. It is not necessary to attend every meeting although it would be a good idea. We will keep you informed and add you to the mailing list. There is a lot of work to be done for what is being planned as THE event of 2008 in Penetanguishene and every pair of hands makes it that much easier for all of us. Meetings usually last about 2 hours and, if you want to make a day of it, the research room will be open for you for the rest of the day at no charge. A free afternoon (4.5 hours) of research - it doesn't get much better! It's a lovely time of the year here so drive on up, give us a voice and a hand at the meeting, bring a lunch to eat outside on the grounds and then spend a few hours researching in the books or on the computers.
