There is a little place called CORBETTON in Dufferin County, 13 km northwest of Shelburne, on the CPR. It was formerly called CHEDWORTH in 1881. But was soon renamed CORBETTON for James Corbett (d.1902) who had earlier built a tavern on the nearby road connecting Shelburne to Owen Sound. The Corbett name is found in the Dundalk area and Creemore too. More information may be available at the Dufferin County Museum and Archives.
