    3. There are quite a few sites with newspapers from long ago - are there any sites with city or town directories from years ago on them? If so, would they only be for businesses, or would they be for individuals too? Again - thank you very much! Tish

    3. I'm afraid I can only answer in respect of Toronto directories. The Toronto Public Library has quite a few of the 19th century registers online. Some of them cover more of Ontario than just "the big city". These do cover residential addresses. Recently www.ontarioroots.com has put up a searchable website for Caverhill's 1859 directory of Toronto. /cheers Pat Jeffs -----Original Message----- From: can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Tish Sent: 17 August 2007 22:51 To: CAN-ONT-SIMCOE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Still another question There are quite a few sites with newspapers from long ago - are there any sites with city or town directories from years ago on them?
