    1. Re: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] New at the museum
    2. Hello: I have family from Cape Croker, Christian Island & Shawanaga. I would be interested in the cost of the death and marriage records from the parish transcripts for these areas please. Does your 1851 census cover any of these records? Thank you. Bev. Waukey

    3. Bev, The book with the data extracted from the 1851 Census of Bruce and Grey counties includes anyone recorded as "Indian". Cape Croker is within the territory covered in the census. Christian Island baptism and marriage records can be found in the Methodist Church records or the St. Ann's of Penetang register. They are not included in the books Deb has indexed. Byng Inlet is the area covered in the books, as she stated in her message. Remember the priests covered a wide area in their ministries. Neither Deb nor I has the time to do lookups for individual family names so it is, as when purchasing any book, a bit of a crap shoot - sometimes you get lucky and find what you are looking for, other times you get a nice book for your shelves. Muriel is a gem of an administrator and allows us a great deal of leeway but she does have one rule - no mentioning of prices. Please contact the address given in Deb's posting for prices:genealogy@pencenmuseum.com Shedevilady@aol.com wrote: > Hello: > > I have family from Cape Croker, Christian Island & Shawanaga. > I would be interested in the cost of the death and marriage records from the > parish transcripts for these areas please. > Does your 1851 census cover any of these records? > > Thank you. > Bev.
