I got the message as well on my work email address which is not and never has been subscribed to any rootsweb lists, so that further complicates trying to figure out how they drew up their hit list for this website. I do feel confident that none of us should either access the site or respond to the message--perhaps the rootsweb people will know what to do. It might be worth cleaning out the tracking cookies on your computer and searching for any spybots, etc. if you have done so. As they aren't list members, I wonder if they might have scanned through the list archives and come up with our addresses that way? ----- Original Message ----- From: "muriel m davidson" <muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca> To: <can-ont-simcoe@rootsweb.com> Cc: <helpdesk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 5:36 PM Subject: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] NO Address Listed on Can-Ont-Simcoe > To all:- > > This character is causing a bit of problem on the list > so I checked the subscription list, where names are > not listed, only address of subscribers. > > It is impossible to find genoom@genoom.com > It is my belief this is a "bounce" - one that was not > caught -- as I mentioned - only the addresses are > given on the lists. > > Please dump this creature A.S.A.P. -- who knows > what luggage he is carrying.
