    1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] John and Elizabeth Campbell from Ireland to Oro in 1831

    3. I am looking for birth or marriage information for my ancestors John and Elizabeth (Weir) Campbell, who settled on Conc 7 Lot 17 Oro in 1831 ( John was a retired soldier - 11th Royal Veterans' Bn). He died around 1854/55, since the Oro property was sold by his widow and sons Richard, William, John and James in Feb,1855 (indenture of bargain and sale # 15471 - barrie Registry Office). Elizabeth was shown on the 1861 census as a widow, 67, living on Conc. 6, lot 25, with her son Richard and his wife Mary. (My direct ancestor is her son, William and his wife Mary (Sproule) Campbell.) My primary interest is in finding out where in Ireland John and Elizabeth (Weir) Campbell were born, married and lived - and where in Ireland their son William was born (15 May 1822). They were Wesleyan Methodist. I would also be interested in finding out the cemetery or cemeteries where John and Elizabeth Campbell are buried (presumably in Simcoe) a will was probated for either of them. Finally, I would like to find out when and where in Simcoe their son, William Campbell married Mary Weir (their eldest child, Isabella, was born about 1848, and 5 more children were born in Oro until they moved to Wallace Twp in 1854, shortly after the birth of my gr-grandfather John Noble Campbell). If anyone has any info or suggestions for me, they would be greatly appreciated. Catherine Campbell _________________________________________________________________ Introducing the City @ Live!
