Hi Ron, I have paid for subscriptions to Pages of the Past for two separate weeks while working on projects and I'm pretty sure the access was immediate. I did have problems on a few occasions with the search engine not working, or being slow, but it eventually corrected itself. However, emails I sent regarding these problems were never answered, so it is not likely that you'll get any help from them. Hello Ron: I have used Pages of the Past extensively and it does take some getting used to. I would suggest that you take a few minutes to use the free one for 1945 to try all the tabs etc to get a feel for how it works. You are paying for a prescribed period and if you are losing that because you can't get it working right, then be sure to email them. I did that a couple of years ago and they gave me some extra time on my subscription. It is often difficult to find the yellow highlighted name, but once you increase the page size it is easier to find. Some names though can be tricky as you'll get many similar results, ie: surname Berry - or Wall - or Hunter, etc When searching try to click the tabs for Social Notices to get the b.m.d.'s and also who poured tea at what function and who wore what at a wedding. Good luck.
