    3. I am trying to follow the various emails on this subject to see if I could help, but I am confused. In another email you say Tracy was born c1890, but below you say he was in 1881 census. Did you mean 1891 census ? He shows up on the 1901 census as Tracey Walker, a domestic in the John Ewing family, also near Stanton. I can find no birth record for him, though I have confirmed that his birth father was Hezekiah Gilbert, birth mother Mary Anne McLean Beatty, daughter of Nancy Walker (Thomas Walker's sister)and William Hamilton Beatty.

    2. Tracy
    3. Hi, thanks for your enquiry. I probably meant 1880, not 1890. His actual birthdate is still not entirely nailed down, but was listed as Dec.1880 on the 1911 census of Wetskiwin AB, and on his marriage licence in Manitoba, in 1905. According to the 1901 census, when he was listed as a domestic in the John Ewing family of Mulmur twp, his birthday is listed as "Don't know", and 1880, age 20. On the 1881 census which was, I think, taken in April of that year, he is shown as age 1. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Davidson" <sheiladavidson@sympatico.ca> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <can-ont-simcoe@rootsweb.com>; <CAN-ONT-SIMCOE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2007 9:14 PM Subject: Re: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Census data 1881-1901 > I am trying to follow the various emails on this subject to see if I could > help, but I am confused. > In another email you say Tracy was born c1890, but below you say he was in > 1881 census. > Did you mean 1891 census ? > > > Sheila Davidson, Orangeville, Ontario > > Researching: > > Proctor, Cole, Williams, Fish, Baxter, Sirr, Robbins, Rawn, Markle, Wilson, > Culbert, > > Davidson, McDonald, Norton, Courtney, Hambly, Hubbard, Brown, Greenaway > > and all pioneer families of Dufferin County & area. > > Volunteer of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness at http://www.raogk.org/ > > Volunteer of Dufferin County GenWeb, Free Look-ups at > http://www.rootsweb.com/~onduffer/dufferin.html > > Volunteer of Ontario Cemeteries Resources, for Dufferin County at > http://www.wightman.ca/~dkaufman/ > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of > gc-gateway@rootsweb.com > Sent: December 9, 2007 1:56 PM > > I'm looking for a way to access census data between the above dates, to find > out more about my grandfather's whereabouts after he appeared on the 1881 > census as Tracy Gilbert, apparently adopted by the Thomas Walker family then > living at Stanton in Mulmur twp.
