    1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] The name NETTIE jumps out !!!!!!!!
    2. Paul and Ruth Robins
    3. John Shadrach's brother. I have John Shadrach Stephens married to Annie McKay, 2 May 1871, I have only one son listed, Frederick b. 1874 m. Nettie Taylor in 190- thanks for the rest. Thank you for sharing. Carolyn I have NO CONNECTION to any of the above . BUT .. The name NETTIE jumps off the page at me. My question is: Is NETTIE a diminutive of a given name, or is it a given name itself. A young girl was taken into my Great Grandfather, JOSEPH BROWNs household, in Coldwater, Ontario, at some point in the 1880s. She appears as about 12, or so, in one photo. I have an 1892 photo of her, as my Grandmothers bridesmaid, where she is in her early 20s. All we know her as is NETTIE MADDEN. Checking the censi, 1881, and on, I have established a couple of possibles .. Cousins of Grandmothers.. One is too old .. BORN 1860+ .. The other appears as LETTIE, which I think is probably a mis-transcription. Her signature on Grandmothers marriage certificate is NETTIE MADDEN. The Maddens, in our family connection, come out of PEEL COUNTY, Grimsby area, and THORNBURY, Grey County. Thanks, for the opportunity to ask ! Paul Robins I Love those old Biblical Names .. so much easier to trace than Bill, Charlie, and Joe .. Remember SHADRACH, MESCHAK, and ABENDIGO . which, as kids in school, we corrupted to SHADRACK, ME-SHACK, and TO-BED-WE-GO !!!!!!!!
