Doris .... My 2G Grandfather, Thomas James came from NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, England. Most of his family, inc: my G-Grandfather Thomas were born in Royston, Yorkshire, England. They came to Canada, in 1852. There was a DICK ROBBINS, lived on WORSLEY Street, in BARRIE, Ontario, in the late 1940`s, worked for G.E. ( tea-kettles ). I was in contact with his son. Len, a couple of years ago. He was living, I believe in Winnipeg, or there abouts. Believe that he was part of this Simcoe County List, at the time. We worked it out that we had no relationship to one-another. Best of luck .. Will keep your e-mail address on file, Paul Robins _____ From: Doris Sliwowski [mailto:dorisj7@sympatico.ca] Sent: November-25-07 6:46 PM To: Paul and Ruth Robins Subject: Robins Family Thank you Paul for answering my email and request so quickly. At this time I do not see any connections in our families. Do you know if Alfred's father(Thomas)came from England? If so where about. My great grandfather was Albert I. Robbins also spelt Robins. He was born in Oxfordshire, England in 1842. His son, my grandfather John Thomas Robbins(1880) was born in Rutland, England and my father Richard(Dick)(1908) was born in Hertfordshire, England. Both my father and his older brother came to Canada after World War 1 in 1922 as Home Children. It is known that my grandfather came to Canada for a short time in the early 1900's as he had an uncle living here, but we do not his name. I am hoping to trace him and any family in Canada. Thank you again for your reply and if I find any connections, I will most certainly contact you. Yours Sincerely Doris Ottawa
